Did Rolex Miss

That is did they miss an opportunity to launch a new clasp with the intro of the new GMT Master?

Should they have launched a new micro-adjust clasp or smaller version of the Glidelock for the GMT Master. Now that we have the next-gen GMT, does that mean we will not see a micro-adjust on the non-diver portion of the professional series for a long time to come.

If so I think that's a shame.

Thoughts?

I find the Easy Link works fine for the very occasional times i adjust mine. Personally, I have no need for an over-engineered clasp and I frequently travel between hot/humid to cold/dry. Tiny micro-adjustments probably just encourage constant fiddling with it, or not having the bracelet correctly sized in the first place.

I would be open to new clasp engineering but easy link is quicker and smaller than glide-lock so not sure how it can be improved. With only two settings I can adjust on the fly. I have to pay more attention with glide-lock. I really only need two settings though.

I don't think Rolex missed... probably on purpose that they keep glidelock-type clasps for their divers.

As Rolex owner we are missing that kind of clasp. To be honest I wish glidelock was on ALL their watches. Love glidelock!!

As nice as the glidelock is, it also extends the overall length of the clasp.

Easylink is great and it keeps the clasp length compact.

I agree, I think the Glidelock in current form is too big for some other models. I was thinking Rolex would release an abbreviated form of it, perhaps EasyGlide for the non-divers. In my mind, that EasyGlide would be the same size as current Safety with EasyLink. Perhaps have 5 notches, spaced 2mm apart for adjustment.

Good comments everyone

I'm under the impression that clasps with the easy link extension have micro-adjustments also. Am I wrong?

There’s the easy link, and also the three micro adjustment but you need spring bar tool to adjust it. I actually don’t like the glidelock just bc it’s takes up too much oyster link space.
