New to Rolex First Post Please help
Hello seasoned rolex experts, I am in need of your assistance for a authentic check on my first rolex watch that I had purchased. It is the Datejust 36mm reference 116234. What are some ways I can check if it is real? Also I have noticed spots on the jubilee bracelet. I know that it is a stainless steel that is polished on the inside and the outer links are matte, however the outer links are polished on the side. My question is the inner links are polished on the top but arent polished on the side. Is that a red flag? I can post pictures if needed. The watch came with papers and everything that matched the serial etched at the 6 o'clock hour marker. Usually fakes will have a hard time getting paper work from an authorized dealer I assume? The dealer is Sant Blanc if any one is curious. Warranty card and paperwork matched serial. (M serial). Help a noobie out!

No real help here, but on used watches bought anywhere it’s not uncommon for them to be polished(tarted up) a bit.
Especially on watches with a combination of shiny and brushed surfaces, sometimes people “clean up” areas and remove scratches not realizing that the area was originally matte as you call it. As for authenticity on a watch the best way is for a reputable watchmaker to open it up and look at the movement. I’m sure other people here have more useful info. |
