Bravo Rolex for fixing the obvious short comings of a magnificent dive watch. The watch now looks well designed and complete.

I don't think I'll be throwing away my 116660 anytime soon. Nor would I consider selling for a penny less than I would have before this morning's news.
I like the proportions, new and old. Both are good options and people will still get either, depending on what is available to them |

If original DSSD gets cheaper preowned I'll be very happy :)
The tapered bracelet is very comfortable on a thin wrist. |

Interestingly....
The new bracelet is cool, but I didn't/don't find the old one to be THAT egregious that I would flip for the new one. Have to admit, I do like the idea of a new movement is the better improvement for me. so the "real world" implications of the new bracelet do-nothing for me, yet the new movement in which I will not impact my day to day wearing of the watch I like more. |

um...as a former dssd owner how will this not weigh more with a larger bracelet and not be more top heavy or bulky???
I like the improvements but it always was uncomfortably too large for a daily and I have 8 inch wrists. |

I’ve paid my AD for my Deepsea blue original. Supposed to be collecting it next week.
I’m worried now. Should I ask to transfer the money to wait for the new one The new one does look good tbh |

I have to say this new version of the Dblue is an improvement, I don't know how one couldn't after the success of the SD43. (which I love). I have no idea what to do In an ideal world, I'd like to compare the new to the one I have and see just how different they feel. I've already contacted my AD |

It's imperfections that get valued later on, the JC1 will go up for sure

Me too, I paid half down one one that they said would arrive in two months. For the movement I prefer the new one, but the thicker bracelet is a concern. I may just collect the old one if it turns up. Not a huge deal breaker considering I would have been happy if this release was next year for example. |

History tells that discontinued models (and versions) rise. Especially sought after models like the D-Blue. EDIT: + the old one is the original model |

It's nice that they updated it, but I found nothing wrong with the original bracelet. I will be hanging onto mine regardless of what may happen with the value. The new movement is nice, but it doesn't offer me anything more really than the old. I don't care about an extra day of power reserve. Also, you know RSC will charge an arm and a leg to service the new one.
I was thinking, what was the production time on the JC? 3.5 years? Not that I am into this watch thing for future values, but this may make things interesting for the 3135 JCs. |

All this speculation about the values is rather premature.
If supply is stiil tight then only a very few WIS people who are after a new one will be concerned as the new one will be all that's available anyway. The second hand market is where the issue will arrise when there is two of them sitting in the window(old and new) side by side. In that case(all things being equal in terms of condition) the new model will easily fetch a higher price because of the movement and bracelet. I'm personally not all that fussed about the new movement and the Rotor bearing design, nor am i sure about the new end links even though i do think the wider bracelet is a little better proportioned. |

The 1st gen D-Blue will do fine over time. I wouldn't be surprised to see a temporary dip as some people flip and demand shifts to the new one - the premiums in North America were almost non-existent on this one like the UK. Then it will gradually go up in value overtime as people want the original and true commemorative.
It's not the overnight spike I was hoping to see if it was outright discontinued, but longer term it'll do just fine I think. |

Is anyone else stunned that they redid the DSSD and even kept the D blue dial?
I’m also wondering if the new clasp will be smaller in size but retain the glide lock of the current model.

My favorite release from Rolex this year, would love see the Sub, SD43 and DSSD side by side.
