The Tudor would be perfect for a pan am dial with no other changes at all.

I think the Tudor GMT is truly awful and cheapens the brand. It looks like a bad fake. Raymond Weil have copied, Tag have copied, and now Tudor have done it.

I'm staggered that they've done it. This along with the 1926 have left me deeply unimpressed with them. It's a real shame as I'm a big advocate of Tudor to my friends and a few of them have now bought them as a result of my recommendation. It's an even bigger shame as all the attention should be on the Black Bay 58 which is utterly brilliant! I've always felt the proportions of the Black Bay were slightly out, but the 58 nails it brilliantly, and the colour palette is terrific also.

On the one hand, I look at the Pelagos, the Black Bay 58, and the Black Bay Chrono and I want to love Tudor - and comparing the prices to other brands, they are also terrific value for money.

But then I look at the 1926, the GMT, and the Ranger, and I am completely turned off the brand.

Just my opinions - don't hate me!

same here

Other popular brands at this level that I can never enjoy are Omega and Breitling. I like PAM and JLC though and will buy their watches with Rolex, PP and AP.

I would have preferred the GMT on an Oyster, bit I also don't love the 41mm case and shape of the case on the Tudor so it's close...

What I do love is the new 39mm BB - Now THAT is the star of Basel for me.

Wow, the Tudor is holding its own here. Its a great looking watch for sure. To hedge my bets, I'm 1st in line for both with my AD :).

Don’t see the poll on Tapatalk but put me down for this one on the strap. That matte dial and bezel and case dimensions are just so much better, at 1/3 the price.

Rolex even though I think it should be on an oyster bracelet instead of jubilee as standard. For me the Pepsi combo is Rolex's and others just look like an imatation even if Tudor did a great job with their's. I also don't like the snowflake GMT hand.

I'm picking up the new Tudor Pepsi as it's relationship to Rolex, as well as the Pepsi design at less than half the price is a winner for me. Or else, I may pick back up the Black Bay Heritage Red that can probably be had now at a discount of almost 20%.

I prefer the Rolex, but I'm much more likely to buy the Tudor. They're both great pieces IMO.

Surprised it's that close. I think the Rolex still got the edge with the movement and comfort....Tudor's a bit too thick on paper for my liking (shall see trying it on) and while I've always appreciated the vintage nods....I think it's starting to reach too hard with the GMT hand being a snowflake as well.....

In this case, I would take the Tudor GMT as it is MUCH better bang for the buck, proportions look great, no Jubilee (which I think looks odd on a tool watch) and it harkens back to the original style. Further, I would put the Tudor on the brown leather strap once in a while, which I wouldn't do with the Rolex. For a Rolex GMT, I'll stick with my BLNR.

I would have liked the Jubilee hidden clasp on the new model; one less thing to scratch.

I would have been all over the Rolex SS Pepsi if it was on an oyster bracelet with no PCL's. I'm just not a fan of the jubilee at all, even though I can appreciate the engineering I suppose.

Love the look of the Tudor, but I think I'll wait a year. Tudor seems to come out with new colors a lot more frequently than Rolex, so maybe next year Tudor will come out with that Coke I was really hoping Rolex would make.

If they were presented to me and I was told which one for free then the Rolex for sure.

Based on what I have seen (pics) and the pros and cons I have to say the Tudor has it at the moment for me.

My thoughts: Tudor IS the new Rolex Tool watch. or, will become the tool watch segment of the Rolex house of products. Rolex will continue on its trajectory of being an increasingly more luxurious brand. I like them both for what they are as well as for the direction in which they both seem to be headed.

I vote Tudor here. The Rolex is beautiful but I travel for leisure and would be more nervous wearing that blingy Rolex. The Tudor is less known, less blingy, less than half the price, 200m WR, and beautiful. As such, Winner to me as I’d be more comfortable wearing it anywhere.

I'm really happy with the whole Tudor Rolex thing. Both having GMT's yet they are so different from one another. I really want a Rolex Pepsi GMT and I've owned a vintage GMT so it's a tough choice. I would be happy with the Tudor.

I'll have to see how bad the demand will be.

Tough without seeing both watches in the flesh, so approaching it from the perspective as if I had to make a deposit to reserve a watch no later than today.

As someone whose watches are always modern Rolex, and having first bought a Tudor as a semi-vintage piece, I have to say... Tudor.

Why? Its more traditionally Rolex than the Rolex, primarily the bracelet, (yes I know there is a historical basis for the Pepsi). If you are going from the tool watch-pilot approach it is more traditional, less "bling", and reasonably understated. Am I willing to pay more because Rolex decided to re-use the bezel on a SS? Probably not. If I will pay higher retail than a BLNR I would be more inclined to do so for a Hulk and not a Pepsi. And that would probably be my first target in terms of scarce watches instead of the Pepsi.

Additionally I do think this Tudor, as the first of its kind with a GMT, will offer nice appreciation with a reasonable initial purchase price.
