Icon2 Predictions: Watches & Wonders 2025

2024 releases were meh, im already moving on .

curious to see what your thoughts are for next year; lets get this going .
  • GMT: Seems Rolex acknowledges 1955 as the fist gmt in the recent video they posted here. so 2025 marking 70 years of the gmt, can we finally expect a platinum or return of coke bezel? perhaps a bump to 41mm?
  • 120 Years: 2025 marks 120 years of rolex. rolex had and is fully capable of making more complicated movements - perhaps this is a good time to introduce such complication? i made an interesting post on the datocompax here.
  • Milgauss & Daydate: 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of these models. Milgauss was discontinued 2023 but with tudor achieving full metas certification, perhaps we see a new model to celebrate. For daydates i only see new dial variations coming out.
  • Yacht Master II: Discontinued at 2024 w&w and with a new movement patent, can we see a return soon?

Hold on a minute, I have to wake up after being put to sleep by today’s releases.

Here's a summary of what will be listed in this thread:

"Coke" GMT
Blue bezel SS Sub
37mm Sub
SS Day Date
42mm Daytona with date

I may have missed a few but the Coke GMT is guaranteed next year...

It seems strange to me that they've had years to get it right but in spite of huge investments of time and money have failed, while some aftermarket ceramic inserts have colors matching the anodized aluminum Pepsi inserts perfectly.

Are these aftermarket inserts two pieces joined together?

I think it’s highly likely they are struggling to produce the Pepsi bezel.

I’ve heard from two different watchmakers that 1) the Pepsi insert is prone to breaking when removing the bezel, much, much more so than the other bezel colours/combinations and 2) this is why Pepsis are so hard to get and so few were seen from ADs in 2024 as not only were they struggling to make them, but a large proportion of those that didn’t get made and passed QC went to RCSs to replaced broken bezels.

I struggle to believe a company as big and as technically clever both within and by outsourcing cannot solve such a simple issue. How many of these bezels need to be removed not many I suspect?

Besides i thought supply was and is specifically regulated to lag demand ?

I actually kinda like that one. And defiantly don’t want to see a bump to 41mm as OP called for.
If anything, it would be cool to see something along the lines of the Tudor GMT at 39mm and coke bezel.

I used to be a person suggesting they will come out with the new GMT case. I don’t see it happening as they keep releasing new GMTs. I doubt they will discontinue after a year or two, also they won’t come out will all new GMTs just after their new release. Maybe a Coke and new PM.

I have been saying this for some time! It just makes sense to move the CHNR to the Coke red and black. I always thought the brown would look better more burgundy, so why not just go red. Will look great with the rose gold. Will be on oyster only. Then next year you will see SS Coke on both oyster and jubilee. Same thing they did with the YG black and grey, only on jubilee, then SS with both jubilee and oyster.

I would bet heavily, for the first time, that a Coke will be put out, come what may with the bezel issues, next year. Rolex are taking a beating over this year's dire release, something they are not used to after so much sycophancy, their Ivory Tower has been breached and they need a sure fire winner next year and the Coke will be it I reckon.
