Nice watches to my eyes.
Don't even own a loupe Mickey. I am talking really visible to the naked old eye. It is a GORGEOUS watch indeed but I don't think the finishing is all that it could be (this is not only limited to the hands IMHO, but let's not get there). It's a shame if they cut corners as MP5 suggests. It could be perfection.

Here's a better picture focusing on the hour hand. I think "preschooler's safety scissors" as mentioned sounds appropriate, if extreme. Again, no loupe, just a bright light. Rough and uneven.

My PAMs have clean cut hands because they are either black (000 and 335) and gold hands (422). I seen a 233 locally at an AD and the hands have the same rough cut as yours. Don't get too bothered by it mate, just have it replaced at the next service :)

The edges of the hands look to be chamfered (spelling - i.e. the edges are "cut" so that there is an additional surface). If you tilt the watch and the bright lights catch this edge, the reflection is pretty "shredded" (err... not smooth-looking). I also have a few specs of dust on my hands... .

If you can see it with the naked eye, starring at the hands head on, then your chamfered edges are worse than average. But my assumption (now) is none are perfect. I bet no one has perfect hands, but without halogen lighting and a damned good eye (or a decent magnifying lens) you probably would never see it.

Look at it under normal lighting while wearing it on your wrist at various angles; if you can't see it, don't worry about it. I have major OCD and I managed to find a few (2~3) micro-pits in my bezel; at first I thought they were little scratches (they would appear under bright light and certain angles) but then I realized they were too smooth... .

I don't like the pits, I don't like the chamfered edges and I don't like the dust - but there's nothing we can do. Ive heard worse stories about NIB six-figure Pateks! Even if you get an almost perfect unit, the day you need to send it in is the day you can forget about it coming back in the same state... either there's more dust, a finger print on the inner-side, etc.

So please, if it looks good in normal lighting, etc. let it be; wait for something more serious before shipping it off!

Look at the top-edge of the hour-hand... even with normal lighting and a head-on view, you can already see that the edge is rough...
Hey Serge :)

I got a speck of dust as well below the sapphire crystal if I remember near the 3'o clock mark in my 335. Quite annoyed but I got over it..
Our watches are hand made and hand finished anyways :)
And yeah, I got OCD as well

I'd be bugged too.
The solution is always a compromise. That's an OCD answer, eh!
A beautiful piece none the less. I hope you can enjoy it.

Cheers

So, the sad conclusion is that this is a somewhat common occurrence with newer batches, as a few guys confirmed.

Thx for the feedback!

Icon9 Could be worse... could be better!

I pulled these up out of my "B list". They are cropped, but otherwise, untouched. I was a little more fortunate than Serg, but you will see some dust on the hands... . No, I'm not freaking, I certainly can't see it with the naked eye, but as Serg pointed out, for €10K one would hope for better

this one is slightly soft, but it shows the outlines well...

Icon17 How do the hands look straight on?

Serge, I'd really be interested to see a shot of the hands "head on" (and focus is paramount*).

*Using a small table tripod would be best but you can easily place the camera on a level table and keep the watch-face vertical (crown-up) by using the straps to support it... . Important is that the angle of the lens is parallel with the hands... .

Merci

The hour and minute hands on my PAM88L are rough as well. Doesn't bother me much though.
