Question on an Omega

A guy just called me because he was hurting for money. he said he has an old Omega f300 he will sell me. I know nothing about these watches and am interested in it but do not have any idea of a value of the watch. Can someone give me an approximate value of this Omega?

The guy said he will take $175.00 for it and I dont know if its a fair price or what..

Thanks
Shawn

Never seen that watch before, and an electronic moniker may mean it's pre-quartz or it is in fact a quartz movement, but my best guess is there isn't any high value there. Check e-bay for some similar pieces to gauge what they are going for. Take my opinion with two pounds of salt as i know nothing about the time piece but my guess is for it to be of any real values it would have to be a mechanical piece, or a rare quartz and this isn't either. just my non-professional opinion...

If its not working DO NOT BUY IT! I can't stress this enough. Just about the only way to fix the electronic movements from this era is either a replacement donor movement or a rebuild from Omega. I once saw a cat who was quoted over $2,000 to fix an f300 movement. There are no replacement parts left really and they're pretty fragile
