Hello TRF!

Heya!

I'm a new member. I've been reading up on all of the different varieties of Rolex and I'm torn between the cute choices like a small case DateJust and big chunky statement pieces like the Submariner.

I like how incredibly varied the DateJust seem to be, even though sometimes you see some very...interesting colour combinations. Whereas the Submariner just seems like a no fuss classic, but would maybe look too massive on me!

I'm here to learn a little more about all of the varieties, but figured I'd start with a hello!

Hey, Holly-Grace, welcome to the forum.

Don't go by what you "maybe" think might be too big. Many ladies wear larger watches. It is all in what YOU like. If you like the Sub, please investigate it further.

Can you try on a Sub (they are 40mm wide) from anyone you know? They are not usually just a "walk-in-and-find" model at a dealer, but "perhaps" a sales person actually wears one, as does my sales rep.

Many Rolex models have a decent lug-to-lug distance that fit just fine on smaller arms, especially if your bones are relatively flat and not extremely rounded. I was shocked when I tried on a 50mm lug-to-lug Sky-Dweller and it fit just fine on my small arm. It had at first viewing appeared way too large for me. Moral = try it on to get an accurate evaluation.

If you have a smaller arm like mine (6.5" = 16.5cm) - and a flattish bone - then the Sub should fit nicely for you. Even with a small arm you could possibly wear a larger watch like the 42mm-wide Sky-Dweller.

Don't let anyone tell you "oh that would be too large for you."

Thanks!

Yeah I'll have to find a way to try one on and then I'll know for sure, I'll give the dealer a nudge and see if he can help out :)

Welcome to the forums.

How about a little of both, like a Two Tone Submariner?
