Garage sale find
What can you tell me about this $5 estate sale find? My guess is that it is a plated mid to late 60s watch. It is a mechanical wind working watch in good condition. The best part, my daughter found it and she loves it without and knowledge of its pedigree or value. Thoughts?

That is vintage for sure. The face looks mint +. I think it is a great find.

I still have yet to find a "hidden gem" at a garage/estate sale. Glad you found one, though. Excellent score. Hope your daughter enjoys it!

From what I understand, women's cocktail style watches aren't in big demand on the resale market but that doesn't mean your daughter didn't pick out a winner. Hopefully she'll wear it and enjoy it for many years to come.

Nice find! It's a ladies DeVille Cocktail watch - prices are all over the place on ebay from $50-200. I'm guessing it has a tiny manual wind Cal. 484 in it but opening it up will give you the model number and caliber number. I think the crystal has a special name to it but I can't remember it!

My best guess is that it's a 1966 Sapphette (or Saphette). Looking through the Omega Vintage Database, the case is likely solid 18k gold.

Nice! This past weekend we were driving around and there were plenty of signs for garage sales going on. It was just such a busy day that we weren't able to stop and look. However; with this Garage Sale inspiration I'm going to be making it a point to at least take a look.
Great find! |
