5513 dial, original vs service
Every 5513 dial I have seen here has a word or words printed below the 6 marker. I wonder if this is because each is original. The reason I wonder is because the dial of my "feet first" 5513, purchased new in Boston in 1967, has no word/words printed below the 6 marker.
This watch went to service (on 5th Ave.) - twice, to the best of my memory - so it is possible that the dial was replaced. The color of the hour markers lume is clean greenish while lume on each of the hands has a somewhat dark cast. Does the lack of word/words at the aforementiond place on the dial definitely brand it a service dial? I know... "A picture is worth..." but alas I have no camera to make one. |
