Given the apparent rarity of the watch - is it unreasonable to expect a discount?

Not at all. 20% to 25% should be very doable.

I was hoping for a blue dialed stainless model out of SIHH, but no such luck. Settled on this and lovin' it. If/when a blue dial is available, it's gonna throw a wrench into my watch box . . .

You are realy lucky, its a gorgeous piece !
If I pull the trigger, I need to sell some other watches and only have this one.
But for a one and only watch, I think I would prefer a black dial one.

Luxury problems, one of the worst type. Haha.

Are you guys sure the 15450 is water resistant ?

The AP website still has it listed as not water resistant and it was released a year or so ago right ?

If it is water resistant then it's a poor show from AP. I wonder how many sales they lost because of this error ?

If it isn't water resistant, it's still a poor show from AP. A sports watch should be water resistant. If their tourbillon chrono dress watch is 20m water resistant it's crazy to think a RO isn't.

Sorry to bump an old thread. I had previously ruled out this watch because of water resistance so would like some clarification.

Might be worth a friendly call/email to AP for clarification?

Also as a side note - remember 20m water resistance just means it is 'splash proof'...not that you can go 20m under water in it.

That would be fine. I go swimming in my Sub.

No water resistance at all is unacceptable to me though.

I would suspect it will be a mistake on AP's part and the watch is infact water resistant to some degree

Thanks, I hope so too

As per your previous suggestion, the last time I was in an AD the sales person didn't even know that the 15450 existed. I asked him if he had anything smaller after disliking the 15400 and he said "we have some 39mm complicated watches".

Maybe he thought it was a ladies watch. AP are not marketing it as a ladies watch though. Even if they did, it has no feminine features so I'd rather wear a ladies watch that fits than the mens one that doesn't. Personally I think it's a great size. Many people I see in the 15400 have it hanging over their wrist in a big way. I'm really particular about my watch not doing that.

I spoke to an AD last week who said the blue dial was going to be very rare.
