Sure! They were design to handle much much more.
I wear my 1980 Snowflake to the office as well as in the water (pressure tested of course). |

A Rolex watch will withstand years of USE, but there are degrees of ABUSE. A Rolex will probably withstand more abuse than most watches, but they are NOT indestructible! My attitude is that you can't have a $ 500 accident with a $ 100 watch! There are times when I wear the Seiko I got for free, and after replacing a movement at a cost of $ 5.00, it serves my purposes quite nicely.
I recall once giving a guy an estimate for $ 650 to fix up the Rolex he nearly destroyed. He was relieved! He told me that he was afraid the repair was going to be expensive! Thirty years ago, I was having a problem keeping beater watches on my son's wrist. I'd fix one up, and he would destroy it! I eventually set him up with my AiR King Date which I have posted elsewhere on this MB. Within months, he had broken the crystal, broken the stem, broke the rotor post, and destroyed the Oyster bracelet. I took it away from him and went back to outfitting him with junk watches that I fixed up. Then I went through the Air King with all Rolex parts (except the bracelet), and put it back into my collection. |

I service my 1665 SD every 6 years and wear it a couple of times a week. Wear it with pride and enjoy it while you can.

Yes I do, though I don't swim with it and if it rains, I place it in my pocket.
