Wonderful construction and a mechanical work of art.
Wow Russell, the watch winder to end all watch winders. Incredible!

Does it have delayed start etc. More pics ...take that ugly 5711P off and stick the Daytona on in its place
Good idea - i’ll put something together with pictures etc.

I did actually get a Buben & Zorweg Safe Master 4 first which is an awesome winder as well. Perfect safe winder and holds 4 pieces. I think you are are B&Z fan? Couldn’t resist the Scatola del Tempo just for the theatre! Both winders run on battery or mains and the weight of the piece being wound seems to make no difference to either winder - the Scatola is very very heavy anyway so the 5711 weight is pretty immaterial.

It is a Ulysse Nardin Tellurium. It was getting this piece that finally pushed me to get a winder. (or two - LOL)

Yes, also have a Safe Master 4. Wonderful quality, top notch features - more sophisticated electronics than the Scatola del Tempo.

Its the cheaper winders which do the harm. Primarily because they rotate too rapidly. The PP winding box turns very smoothly and slowly as does this winding box. Interesting this winder has the watches hanging vertically. The PP winder puts the watch at about a 45 degree angle. The only watch which should ever be on a winder is a perpetual or annual calendar set by push correctors. It is harder on the movement to keep resetting it than to just leave it running all the time. With all other watches you are just wearing out the movement needlessly. Just wear the watch, every few months for a few hours. Some unsold watches sit in dealer's cases for years unworn with no ill effects.

Can't disagree with the general points you make, I rotate wearing my watches so only pieces in the current rotation and with complications will be on a winder before they move to a rest/hibernation period. Interestingly I was led to understand a vertical winder puts less strain on the movement as opposed to one at 45 degrees and of course I believe Scatola del Tempo originally made all of Pateks winders.
