So here is a thread I created a few months ago.
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=505965 My Local AD in Qatar didnt know much about it, nor did the AD in Bahrain, however my friend's AD in Australia confirmed to him that the dial is a different shade now. I distinctively remember hunting my next target much before I acquired my 5711. This was much early on in my collecting, and I made sure to try all the options before hunting for the 5711. Initially it was the 5167, then it was the AP 15202, then in was the white 5711 which I was set on, however wanted to wait till I got to try a blue 5711 in the flesh before pursuing. It was nothing other than the design, and specifically that extremely deep blue dial that had me restless till I could get one of my own. I am 100% certain that the new ones are not the same shade, and more of a greyish blue. Still a beauty, but it wasn't what I had fallen in love with. If you saw my thread, I must admit that in the flesh it is honestly more obvious than in the pictures, but the dials are nothing alike. I ended up keeping my old one. |

I know Karl has the P but I asked about the G 5796.
I haven't seen anyone post an incoming of one of those. Obviously either would be grail material for me but really like the 5796/1G bc of its stealthiness. The 5711 dial is my least favorite of the Nautilus line yet I have the 1R lol. Still great but just like complications more. |

One has thicker "lines" and has the Patek Philippe text a little bit lower then the one with the thinner lines. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...631bf62910.jpg This dial has the thicker lines and lower text (which i like more, but you don't see them often) Cheeers |

This is rather interesting; I wonder if you could perhaps film both side by side?

I believe you can always tell the dial from the papers.
Original blue/grey dial 5711/1A 001 (001 is dial designation) White dial 5711/1A 011 Current blue/grey dial 5711/1A 010 Same is true for other models: Original year 1 5131R 001 (city ring varies with each dial version) Year 2 5131R 010 Year 3 5131R 011 5711/1P 010 - no diamonds, none 40th edition 5711/1P 001 - 40th edition |

If you go by pictures only you'll never know, every picture is different, lighting, angle, white balance, film vs digital etc. They're all the same except the platinum version.

Congrats! Its the blue dial, You'll notice color changes with the interplay of the dial and light
