Omega SMP chronograph advice needed...
My Omega AD has a NOS 2954 that I'm really considering buying .
It has the cal. 33XX movement which is itself based on a highly regarded F.Piguet movement. I know Omega had some teething problems with it at first, but for a free sprung, column wheel movement it is a very decently priced watch IMHO... I also love the fact that is does not have a wave dial while the bezel numbers font is much more attractive to me than the bond chrono . Now if one compares it to 2225.80 SMP Bond chrono I believe the pushers on the 2594 are less spaced apart and I also believe the shape case is different. Can anyone confirm if the 2594 is thinner and also the crown guard is different? So are the cases different completely ? And now the watches in question.. What are your opinions on both? Thanks for any help in advance . |

Cosmetically, the 2594 looks much better to me. The black dial, bezel and the speedy bracelet is a very appealing combination.

Here you go, some first hand experinence
It's an awesome watch, thinner than the new model, considerably in my opinion, no wave dial which is awesome and the speedy bracelet is perfect....It's one of my favorite watches I have ever owned..... Newwristshot.jpg Omegaprop.jpeg claspnback.jpeg |

They are both very nice. I like my 2225.80 because I like a date function. I also like the waves.

Very nice watch for sure. May I ask about the blue dot on the caseback? Was it repaired or just routine servicing? Also how long did you own it and do you wear it in action (swimming, running, diving etc..)? Thanks again. |

I owned the 2599.80 (twice), the 2594.50 and currently the 2594.52. From the recollection, the 2599.80 seemed a tad heavier, but both have the same case size.
