SMP Blue Wave?

My first luxury watch was an SMP wave blue chronometer.

I see now they updated with coaxial but thats about it (no new bracelet)?

Are they discontinuing this model soon, is that why they aren't updating the wave dial?

I like ceramic but the wave dial is so gorgeous, am i alone here?

Ride the waves while you can, they stopped making them already :)

I am one who likes blue waves. I have blue waves on my SMP and on a Bond. Cheers, Bill P.

The Bracelet was updated(screw and pin system vs. the old pin and sleeve), along with an updated 2500 Co-Axial movement. The biggest differences though, obviously though, are the ceramic bezel and lacquer dial.

I don't think they're discontinuing the model, but they're certainly doing what they can to make sure the price point doesn't creep too high. Otherwise, they're going to price themselves out of buyers who aren't looking to spend more than 5k for a basic watch.

Does that mean wave dials will one day become collector items?? :-)

To the OP, you are not alone! I love my black wave dial SMP!

I miss the waves too

Although the new SMPs are very nice, I do think the waves gave SMPs a distinct look.

I like the waves as well:

But my only remaining wavy dial is the infamous "Speamaster":

It is one of five known examples of a 2301.21.00 Seamaster with "Speedmaster" misprinted on the dial:

Just picked up this mod from a Bond SMP300. How you feel about it? I always missed my 2254.50 and this is that but blue. This is the version Omega never made for some reason..

Sellers pic. Will post new once I have it home. Will use it on the blue OEM rubber with deployant.

Quick q; would the new ceramic bezel fit on this? If so, anyone know how much bezel insert only would cost me?

Very nice watch. The 2254 looks much better in blue than in black. Congrats.
