In need of CPR...
Compulsive Purchase Rehab that is... For reasons beyond rational analysis, I'm finding myself drawn towards the idea that I need a 'dress' watch... On a scale of 1-10 (10 being a big YES!), how do you guys feel about this?
Is this a thing of beauty or what?

Of the blue dials, Jubilee, Arabic, Arabic Concentric and stick, this one w/the gradient just seems to be the one that speaks to me. The diamonds make for very nice markers, IMO. This particular combo may teeter on the edge of gaudy for some but I find it both elegant and showy. I don't think this is any more bold than say a TT Blue Sub or GMT Anniversary. On the other hand, the diamond bezel would be way over the top for my tastes. I'm liking this way more than I should right now...

The blue face and diamonds are hot.
However, I've never been a fan of TT or that particular bracelet, so I'll score it a 5/10. It's a beautiful watch, just not for me. |

It's beautiful, 9/10 (blue dial 10/10 is the preserve of the Sub only, lol).
And yes, you do need a dress watch, lol |

I think I like the smooth bezel though. Not a big fan of the fluted ones.

Funny how the mind works... at least mine. I've always been one to prefer tool and sports type watches. Black faces and simple. I just got a Sinn Flieger Chrono not too long ago and it's been a real pleasure. Not too long afterwards, the GMT-II. Prior to that I owned a 14060 for many years. Afterwards, an Explorer I. I'm now looking, for the first time, with new eyes at the DJ. I do like the fluted bezel better than the plain. The two tone and fancier bezel are part of the 'dressy' definition in my mind. The dial, I really like the Blue Vignette Serti... but slate, meteorite or champagne are all very nice as well. Even pearl is nice. Of them all, the Blue is bold yet lush and unusual. Not too common from what I've seen. I don't really care for the Roman markers, don't ask me why. I could live with the stick or Arabic though the Arabic is too much like my Explorer I. Been there, done that. The diamond markers are the final distinction that make this dial far more interesting than any of the other offerings, IMO. The blue, gold and white sparkle work together nicely. OK, I'm thinking out loud and rambling at that. Here's another shot of the same watch (116233), except... Whats with the relief cuts at the lugs? Is there a name for this and why this watch and not the other? Is this something new? I also see the first example has no lume on the hour and minute hands, the second does. Interesting if not puzzling...
