Dayton Ceramic with White Dial = Future Collectible?
Kinda a crystal ball experiment here but I suspect that the current SS Cerachrom Daytona with a white dial will eventually become a future collectible grail. There's just something about this new iteration that checks all the right boxes. And it seems like the white dial is especially sought after.
What do you guys think? Would this be a standout piece in say 30 years? Or would it simply get lost in all the other Daytona references of the past and ones to come? |

I think that all the SS Daytonas are collectible... I haven't seen a Discontinued Model SS Daytona go down in price...

I bet a lot of today’s watches will be collectible if you wait that long :)
Of particular Rolex models, I think any Daytona will be a safe bet, plus the d-blue which I think/hope will discontinue within the next 5 years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The SS daytona is usually the safest bet. They are always in demand.

Dayton Ceramic with White Dial = Future Collectible?
If we take the rarity factor out being a collectible I think the white dial DaytonaC will have a special appeal for many many decades to come. Although it holds 90% of the same attributes as prior models, to me the 10% differences make it feel and look like an entirely different watch. The panda-like dial is simply stunning and the contrast between the white dial and the black ceramic bezel makes it sporty yet still dressy.
So I feel it's a classic in the making. Although production numbers will keep it from being rare I only see this one appreciating in value and collectibility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A limited TRF only edition with real panda dials would really be collectible.

Lets see if the Paul Newman Daytona breaks records and makes headlines. If so it could drive the demand up even more. Its the closest looking watch to the PN and Big Red you can get for under $50k.

Yes now we’re talking! Matte panda dial, brushed lugs, brushed center links. Top modern but still a true classic.

i doubt it. a zenith daytona, big block tudor chrono / any rolex stamped tudor with an ETA -- or even a sd43/sub43 is safer long term 6d guess imop. there's no standout peripheral or pop-cultural uniqueness to it today (ss daytona-c) beyond a ceramic bezel and better power reserve. and rolex is a mature brand today accessible to many, many more people -- and will it be aesthetically different in 30yrs? doubt it, beyond fonts and such. the platinum daytona (used), is the better long view buy right now because its the best lower volume version and when compared to SS, its grossly under valued. but with any watch, as long as the owner loves it, thats what matters. |

I think the Platinum has a better long-term view being it is the first Platinum Rolex Chronograph and the mix of brown and ice blue would be a nice looking watch in 20-30 years time or would look as vintage as the older daytona.
Never bought it for investment purposes but its the ultimate daytona and fortunate of wearing it every day.

Most rolex watches will go up in value
To become collectible they need to be rare or iconic for some reason The only ones I can recall that might fit that are the stick ll GMT master from 2006/2007 The solid blue dial TT sub sold for only 4 ish years The green sub - yes it lasted longer but the pre ceramic still had a fairly limited run. Not sure about the ceramic Those 3 in 50 years, wonder what they will fetch. As for the Daytona, harder to get hold of yes, prices higher, generally yes, but it’s still a Daytona but with a ceramic bezel that is going to feature on pretty much every Daytona going forward (probably) |

The watch is already a collectible and selling for up to 80% above list in the Uk! That’s not bad even compared to a lot of collectible watches once inflation is accounted for.

= current collectable. I think almost any Zenith Daytona, ss Daytona and Daytona C will be worth about 50k in the next 20 years.

I don't see it as a future collectible but rather a future or close distant investment. Watches are normally not investment items at for me but there're some exceptions and Daytona Cerachrom 116500 LN definitely hits this mark. While novelty doesn't wear off one could make a money from selling it

The Daytona in its current form is not under appreciated, so no chance it becomes a collectable. |
