The RE-BUY

We've all done it. Parted with my GMT II a few months back. Needed to buy another of the EXACT. SAME. THING. I finally feel whole again.

If you love something, set them free. If they come back, it's yours forever (or at least until the next opportunity to flip comes along).

Very nice. How could you resist?
I just got my 1st GMT 16710 "Z" a few weeks ago. For maybe the 1st time in my life I will try to learn from someone else's mistake. Well.........it's a thought anyway.

I'm wearing the watch on my wrist right now.....don't know how you let it go in the first place:

Don't let this one go down the line! Congrats on the reunion.

I have a coke GMT Master II 16710 also. It's my go-to watch, no question. If I ever had to reduce my collection to one watch, it would be the 16710 and my inserts, of course. :-)

Congrats and enjoy!

Gorgeous watch!
I fully understand the feeling of withdrawal and the urge to re-purchase.

Part of my love for my watch is the experiences I have with it. Do you feel like you lost that when buying a new version of the same watch you owned? Or am I crazy?

I've never done that with Rolex. Only with the Speedy Pro - on my wrist as I type this!

I have done it many times over. You never know what you have until it's gone. Great re-pick up!

ive done it. and with a GMT no less. took me 2 years to find. will never sell this. i could wear thiis watch and only this watch for the rest of life (before I installed an NOS crystal and mint 78360 with a date stamp that matches the year of my watch, courtesy of Springer). that being said, i am toying with the idea of getting a Z 16710 to enjoy the benefits of a modern GMT. the pepsi GMT has always sung to me. strangely drawn to a Z/M 16710 but only the Z/M serials. love the coronet on the end of run dials.

I've done that with a sub bluesy twice! This time it's staying, third times a charm.
