Availability Daytona 116500 in Europe AD

Hi guys, this is my first newbie thread in this forum. I'm heading to a few places in Europe in November. Am hoping to be able to find the Daytona 116500 there, does anyone have any idea which ad in Europe might have stocks for it?

Wish you the best of luck, but I think it's gonna be really tough.
Unless you're willing to pay a premium.

I'm sure others with more knowledge of their local markets will chime in shortly.

I doubt you are going to find one for retail but good luck.

Sure - you should try in Zürich or Basel (Bucherer) they pretty much always have them for new customers or VIP customers

Here in Germany it depends where you go but if you are heading to Germany, you shall look into EBay Deutschland- and you will see a lot of them for very close to the List price (maybe 500€ plus) and a lot folks are flipping it as well. So not difficult to find it here.

If you are around Berlin - Múnich or Frankfurt, you should go to Bucherer and you might be able to get it

,
you can get lot of 116500 in Germany, but only at a grey Dealer (maybe 5.000€ plus !!!, not 500€ plus !!!)
If I can buy a 116500 for 500€ plus, I jump now into my car and drive so far as I can
I'm on three waiting lists at several AD since last year and I'm a good customer at all three AD.

I looked for them for quite some time but also didn't find anything in stock without ridiculous premiums.

I know a shop in the UK that has a few (at least 1 white and 1 black) but they were selling them at 5.000 EUR over retail. It's just a HUGE hit.

In their defense, I checked in a few ADs and they didn't even consider putting another name on the list. One said they stopped taking names since the wait list was already expected to last 5 years.

I thought this sounded like a Ludwig II fantasy, otherwise half the forum would be flying to Germany for summer vacay!

Hope that's sarcasm as Zurich and Basel have several year long waiting lists.
I ordered my white 116500 in Zurich right after Basel world 2016 and still haven't received it.

I so giggle at the posts of availability....forget UK unless you buy grey and pay up to 5-6,000 Euro over list.

If any of us in the forum knew where you could find one at retail, I don't think we would share. We would catch a flight immediately and get it oursevles

Two chances...slim and none.

Your best bet is to get on a list with some AD you have a working relationship with.

Easy to get one in Europe, just pay asking price. Did you want black or white dial?

We can get Rolex watches in India but how can we identify whether its an original one or a lookalike.

Any tips on the same will be appreciated.

The 'easiest' place to get these is Bangkok (for example the previous model was ALWAYS available as a walk in) but due to the speculators who know that they can easily turn a profit means that even in Thailand now these are super hard to get whereas BLNR, Cameron, SD43 is easy.

That being said if you have a relationship with an AD in Thailand you can for sure get one within 6 months as waiting lists are lower than elsewhere due to the Thai favoured Rolex models being the TT Datejusts and Sports Rolex being less popular compared to other markets. I gave a heads up on another forum I'm a member of a few months ago that one AD in Northern Thailand had a Cameron, SD43 AND a Speedmaster Snoopy in stock and she would get a white dial Daytona within a couple of days if I spent around 500k Baht on another watch. So I could have technically bought the Cameron and the Snoopy and be 'rewarded' with a Daytona at MRSP. UK VAT charges of 20% on top sadly pushed this into the realms of fantasy for me but someone on the forum was able to benefit.

Lucky chap I know got one in Yangon Myanmar as a walk-in!

I'm 100% if you have a real relationship with your add - they will find it in weeks time.

If I were you, starting checking around in different ad in Switzerland and I'm sure they can get you one.

It's not like rolex is not producing the Daytona, the actual situation is that AD are holding up for VIP customers and those "VIP" customer are buying the watch for profit but in the end - they don't keep them.

Rolex in Phuket airport last week had the BLNR
But with the Baht at 41.5 - pound it made it 7000 pounds,,,even in duty free
