16700 GMT vs 16710 GMTII case thickness

From what I can tell online the 16700 is supposed to be about .5mm smaller than the 16710 but most people say they are the same case. Is the crystal a different size? I'm a "thinner is better" kinda guy and I dig the quick set date. Trying to decide which one to acquire.

I own a 16700 and an ExpII 16570. I need only two time zones at the most. When it comes time to set the two I find if so much easier to set the 16700 that I really dread setting the ExpII which has the same movement as the GMTII. I keep the ExpII on a winder just because of the effort required to set it. Most really like the GMTIIs better. Not me.

I've heard that from more than a few people. Since I'm mostly interested in the date feature I'm guessing the 16700 is the better option especially if it might be a hair thinner. I just haven't heard any confirmation that it was.

I don't believe it will be easy to get comparison of the two as most don't own both. Good luck with your watch buy. I find the 16700 very comfortable fwiw although I'll likely be getting rid of mine as I recently purchased a Sky Dweller which will serve the same purpose as a GMT.

16700 GMT vs 16710 GMTII case thickness

Bob's Watches has a chart:
https://www.bobswatches.com/more/rolex-watch-case-sizes

Looks lime 11.8mm for the GMT and 12.4mm for the GMT2.

I have a bunch of both of them..

Any thickness difference is about a couple of sheets of paper thickness.

Cool. Thanks for the info guys. I'd checked Bob's site earlier but it's good to have first-hand knowledge even if the sizes are extremely close. I love how Rolex manages to keep these cases fairly slim for the technology available.

Once I find something to do with my 16600 SD I'm heading to GMT land :)
