SS YM II or SS Sky Dweller?
Which one are you picking? Pictures are always welcomed!

I would probably go with the Sky. I say probably. Date, AC, and GMT function...a lot of bang for the buck whereas the Yacht's countdown timer, while cool, doesn't bring as much to the table, IMO.
Now, if you do something crazy and throw function out and just go by looks alone...much tougher call. The YM2 has one of, if not the most commanding wrist presence out there. IMO. |

I never thought I would like the YM2...until I tried one on. It was SS, but the most gorgeous Rolex I've tried on. I haven't tried on a SkyD but I imagine it'll look similar to a DJ. The YM2 is just so clean but the colors are so vibrant, it blew me away.

If between those two I personally would go with the Skydweller. I'm all for functionality and looks. I do travel a ton for work across the pond and when I'm home I have conference calls across multiple time zones as well so GMT function is important to me.

As far as looks alone it's real close. I absolutely love the look of the YM, however the function is completely useless to me.
While I don't need most of the complications in the Sky-D, I still find them useful. The price is also better, which I suppose shouldn't matter, but might be a factor. |

The price is the factor and mainly why everyone is lusting after the watch, if it were $18k-$20K it would play to a limited crowd, truth is Rolex had so many of those movements and were not selling many in PM so to move some all you have to do is turn the watch to SS and it will sell at a reasonable price. Really don't understand price difference between PM and SS though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

True. But for those buying from an AD, you might get 5% off a YM, and obviously you'd be lucky to buy a Sky-D at MSRP. Anyhow, many here buy only from ADs.

Truth!
Either way, as I mentioned above, just the on paper price comparison is incredible when you consider the movement in each watch. |

I have no interest in buying a YM2 at $14k (secondary market price) and I have no interest buying a Sky-D at $20k. But a Sky-D at $14k?? Sign me up. That's just to reiterate in more words which i'd choose. |

Not in the 'hunt' for either one right now, but if I was it'd be SKY D. It has the complications I'd be interested in.

I'm going with the YM2 personally the SS SD resembles a DJ to me, I'd prefer the SD had Romans on the dial like the PM version Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

For me skydweller. Ym2 is a good watch but not justified from price point of view. Also, despite good looking, but still very busy dial for my taste.

The new YM II hands do nothing for me.
That being said, I have owned the SS, TT and YG and long story short, they are all gone. No matter the price, the SS Sky Dweller has a more useful complication. |

Ultimately I plan to get both.
I like the elegance and the useful complication of the SS Skydweller, but I prefer the looks of the YM II and if I had to get only one, it would be the YM....though by no means an easy decision. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Two different types of watches. As a YM II 116680 Owner, I would pick the YM II 116680. Still, that doesn't stop me of desire to own a Sky Dweller 326934. It also carries all the quintessential Rolex features whereas Rolex YM II is totally a unique watch, it might be a good thing or bad depending on the perspective

SS Sky Dweller. I love the look of both, but like Lee, I no longer have a use for the YM complication and when I no longer have a use for the SS Sky Dweller, I will be ready for the exit queue.
Really hoping my AD here in Sydney will give me a call in Sep or alternatively I get lucky in Honolulu in October.
