Incoming (my first non Rolex)

I have been wanting a dress watch for quiet some time. Being a Rolex person I looked at the Cellini Moonphase (which I really like a lot) but I felt like it’s a bad value proposition. For its price I’d rather get a PP Calatrava or ALS.

I kept looking at this Jaeger and today I finally pulled the trigger. I think it’s a beautiful piece for a very fair price. I got it from an AD that I have purchased other high end jewellerly from with a nice discount.

Nice watch. I had one but eventually traded it towards a Patek Calatrava. Enjoy it!

JLC moonphase for the price they're asking...amazing. I would take this over the Celini any day of the week. The movement on that watch is beautiful, and that gold rotor...forget about it. Great watch man

Yeah...the Cellini line does nothing for me. Not a great value proposition as the OP noted. Great choice going with the JLC. That said, I too would go with ALS if budget allows.

Very nice time piece. This brands call to fame was, " the watchers watch ". This company made calibers for other companies prior to manufacturing their own watches. A fine brand.

Actually the watchmakers watch and yes it is a great brand with plenty of history and horological contributions. They have always been a movement maker first.

Very nice piece and good choice, I agree if you are going to pay any higher go for a Calatrava.

Beautiful piece at a great price. I was having a hard time choosing between that and a Reverso full calendar and got the Reverso in the end.

Beautiful watch! Congrats!

I’ve been looking at this watch recently too. Do you mind sharing how much discount you got on this one?

Such an amazing watch! I've been looking at both this and the Master Calendar and having a hard time making a decision.

Congrats!

Looks great. Well played! I've had a similar thought process...Cellini, then thought it was too much money for what you were getting. Then I obsessed over JLC's for 6 months but literally couldn't decide which one I wanted. I narrowed it down to pretty much everything in the Master Control line. Then I obsessed over Lange Saxonia for a while. I ultimately realized I'm just not ready to buy a dress watch. I'm going to keep looking because the hunt is half the fun.

I think your new watch was a fantastic choice. Enjoy it!
