Opinions on Ebay 1501 needed.

Thank you in advance for any comments or observations that can be made about the watch or any other part of the sale/presentation including the seller. sshah2010

I have been browsing for a birth year (1975) watch for a while and another TRF’ers recent acquisition got me to looking again. Not really wanting to pay the prices for subs or GMT’s if the era. Had originally decided on some sort of DJ on a strap, maybe YG but flexible.

This popped up on eBay and naturally I am going to do my due diligence. Looks really good to me but the date range 4,ooo,xxx seems off for a 1975 watch as advertised. Seems more 1973’ish??? But it appears to be complete and in wonderful shape and I am not sure it has ever been refinished??

Any and all questions and comments welcome. And again, thank you in advance for your opinions.

Brandon

I noticed the date code on clasp is VB Which is 1977. I have a 1977 all orig. Datejust 16030 5M serial no. VB clasp code as well, but really no big deal I think it looks wonderful to me, I'm no expert but it sure looks good especially for the price

Wondered about that as well. Thanks for he insight. Just looked at the list that Bernard Watches has out for serial/date and a 4m serial says 1974 so this is in the right range. I need to ask for a picture of the bracelet stretch.

Yep, shouldn't be much according to his desription, I hate when they don't show a minimum of 12 photos which is what ebay has for every seller

Thanks fellas. Going to keep an eye on this one as the premium for its condition and completeness has me a bit taken back.

In the quandary of if it is my birth year watch and I am never going to sell it why do I need the boxes and the increased prices etc. but it is nice to have just in case.

I was going to mention the lack of a warranty card, but that probably doesn't matter after 40 years. Assume unless told otherwise (with proper paperwork) that it is need of a service, and plan accordingly.

I too would like to see a shot of the bracelet stretch.
