Kauai Coffee Company. America's largest Coffee Plantation. It was formerly a sugarcane Plantation repurposed in 1992 to coffee.

Waimea Canyon and the Na Pali Coast never get old. Simply one of the prettiest places on earth. The Grand Canyon of the Pacific and arguably more beautiful than the Grand Canyon on the mainland.

Many thanks for your kind and thoughtful words.

They are greatly appreciated.

This trip has been absolutely fantastic.

Will have to see what the future holds but I will be in a better place after this adventure regardless of how the cards play out......

After our wonderful visit to Tiki Iniki we attempted to visit legendary Tiki bar Tahiti Nui. It has been in operation for 50+ years. It was made famous in the movie The Descendants, where George Clooney visited the place.

Unfortunately it was closed for several days. We will have to return some day.

In 2017 I was doing research for our first trip to Kauai. I quickly consulted with a dear friend. He pulled out the big guns and got some excellent recommendations from his friend.

The first and most important suggestion was to go to Foodland Supermarket for the best Poke on the island.

Boy was that a great recommendation which we took advantage of on every trip. Our local Foodland in Kapaa closed in 2019 so now whenever we get out to Princeville we make sure to take advantage!!!

Limahuli Botanical Garden is one of my favorite places on earth. Located at the northern end of the Na Pali coast, it's an amazing place. The view at the top is my favorite. Today we were rewarded with a view of Humpback Whales off the coast!

The mountain in the bottom photo is known as Makana in Hawaiian which means gift or Bali Hai in English after the famous movie South Pacific.

I'm very grateful for every minute we have been graced to spend at this magical place.

Directly across the street from Tahiti Nui, in Hanalei, Kauai, Hawaii was an amazing Art Gallery named Havaiki, after the legendary homeland of Polynesians. It was outstanding! We met one of the owners Dylan, who spent time visiting and educating us. The gallery has an association with the Kauai Museum that we visited a few days ago.

We often rent kayaks and go up the river at Hanalei Bay. Or do the trip up the Wailua River.

The mother-in-law has a system. She sits and I paddle. SERIOUSLY?????..... she is 88, but c'mon.

And we race my wife and her sister, which is easy because they can't paddle in a straight line.

Blansky,

We did the Wailua River kayak up then hike the muddy jungle trail to Secret Falls a few years ago. It was amazing!! I'm glad we did it. We were late 50s at the time and it took a lot. At least going UP the river and on the trail where we didn't know how long it would take. Now coming back and going DOWN river was easy!!!

Glad to hear you are able to treat your MIL so well. You are very fortunate!!

The famous Spouting Horn blowhole in Poipu, Kauai, Hawaii. It's somewhat reminiscent of Old Faithful in Yellowstone in a tropical Pacific Ocean Polynesian kind of way.

We got to visit Keoki's Paradise in Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii.

The themeing and tropical design at this location were amazing. It approached Disney level of quality and excellence. It was like dining in a Botanical Garden with an amazing Tiki Thatched Hut in the middle along with amazing landscape design.

We got to go to the farmers market and were fortunate enough to get some Kauai Sugarloaf pineapple. They sold out on the next order after mine. The salesman said there would be no more Sugarloaf pineapple until mid-February.

Sugarloaf pineapple is simply the best pineapple in the world. It is white rather than yellow and you are able to eat the core. It is not as acidic as traditional yellow pineapple.

I'm so glad we got to sample this delicious delicacy and a dinner of Foodland Ahi poke and Sugarloaf pineapple is wonderful!!

We got to visit Kilauea Lighthouse and Bird preserve for the first time. We had seen the Lighthouse and birds from a distance on our first trip in June 2017 but it was great to get to see this amazing place close up.
