We did another ride today for about 2 hours in the 18 Road trails near Bookcliffs. It really is a spectacular area over here and this trip encourages the idea of retiring in this area someday.

wow nice. I have similar bad boy (9) and was thinking of converting it for my daily commute to work. How much was the conversion if you don't mind me asking? How long does the battery last? So with this one you still have to pedal and you get electric assist?

Thanks

Alex

Thanks! Competitive Cyclist had some great deals last week so I just ordered the new Niner RIP9 RDO carbon frame with SRAM XX1 drivetrain, XTR brakes, and a 140mm Rockshox Pike fork. They had 40% off the frame, 30% off the drivetrain, about 22% off the fork, and then another 10% off the total for buying 4 or more components. I'm going to transfer over my carbon rims and dropper post and should be at around 27 lbs for that build. It's going to be sweet bike!

I just got a steel single speed 29er. I don't know if it's the gearing (48 tooth front, 14 rear) or the slicks but I definitely feel at least 20% faster than on my 26ers.

The big wheels really roll well. My wife just went from a 26" FS to a 29" FS and I no longer have to wait up for her, in fact I can't keep up with her - amazing difference!

Haha! Now we need 32in!

I'm actually contemplating selling my 26er FS and getting a 9er.

I was actually able to keep up with some roadies. So I can imagine how it would be if I had gears!

We were both lucky. I hit my head harder than I ever had in my life resulting in a cracked helmet upon impact with the concrete. CT Scan revealed not much going on up there
