Super noisy rotor
Took this out for a spin for the first time in over a year recently and couldn't help but notice the rotor was noisy as hell. I take my watches out of the box and wind them about every month or two if I haven't worn them and don't remember this noise at all.
Anyone can chime in ? |

FWIW my green dial aqua terra has a bit of rotor noise to it. Runs perfectly at +1 per day.

If you search on Google there are quite a few posts on this, and the conclusion seems to be that it’s normal. I can’t confirm unfortunately as my omega watches are manual wind.
I’m sure it can’t be worse than the heuer H02 movement however. I had a green Monaco for a while and every time I moved my wrist it sounded like I was playing with one of those fidget spinners! |

This is the norm, I believe. I've owned several like that as the rotor bearing isn't necessarily silent.

I own a seamaster 300m with the 9901 movement and a deville and they both sound like chinese knockoffs. I'd heard it explained on other forums as having to do with the ceramic bearings on omega movements, but I don't know the cause - only that I hear the rotors on them waaay more than I do on my other watches and the boutique has told me when asked about it that it's totally normal.

I have a Grey Side of the Moon. It's rotor makes noise. Not as bad as some Sinn models, but I can hear it.
However, the PO Deep Black makes no rotor noice at all, but that's probably due to the case thickness and toughness being a dive watch. |

my 9300 cal speedy and 8800 cal seamaster are loud. my 8900 hour vision is not. from my research, it's due to the fact that the 9300 and 8800 use ceramic bearings.
