Omega Swatch Collection

So what is so special about these Omega Swatch moon watch collection? They seem to be sold out in Swatch stores and listed on ebay for high prices. I don’t get it.

They’re basically homage pieces by the parent company, Swatch.
As I understood it plenty of production was planned and at some point that would satisfy demand. For about $250 it’s a nice little watch, but it’s no “real” Omega.
No way would I pay over retail to get one though.

I actually wore it all day in Mexico and it was hot. I think only the blue one does that. It was funny how I bought this. I had been wanting it and randomly saw a kid and his dad in the parking lot selling it. I felt really bad for them as the kid was deaf and he was raising money for a trip. So I gave him 450. Plus they waited in a 6 hour line. I only wore it for a few days I will again and let you guys know.

Here's my Pluto.

I dig them. It's a fun watch. I hate the original velcro strap so got a matching Erika's Original strap for it.

And here it is with the FOIS I got soon after (on Erika's Original Ukraine strap)

I saw one for sale on Chrono for about $360.

Then I read the sale again more closely.

That was for the freight.

I will wait until they are restocked in the stores.

Holding out for Mercury at MSRP. If you don't take them too seriously I think you'll come around to them. They are just supposed to be fun. My only real gripe is the lack of water resistance. I think they would have made for good beach watches.

They are goo for 3 bar/ 66ft. Probably plenty for beach shenanigans. The mercury is the one for me too.

30m water resistance is just another word for splash , rain, or quick hand wash. I wouldn't swim with it, and personally I don't swim with anything less than 100m WR.

Mercury looks great, especially on aftermarket straps

I have watched some youtube reviews, some I trust more than others, the watch appears to be cheaply made, people complain the strap is not comfortable, the crystal is plastic……hey, it is a $260 watch not a Rolex.
Seems like it is not a watch for the beach/ocean/pool.

You're probably right. Like I said earlier, it's best to think of them as a fun novelty rather than a serious watch. But I would probably throw down $260 for one of them, but nothing more.

Can’t get one & my daughters been in store a few times for me

Rapidly losing interest & no way would I line someone’s pocket as they look to be doing x4 over retail on eBay for the moon/ mercury versions

Recently got my eye on a citizen bn151 which can get on Amazon for £140 next day. Maybe get as my next holiday watch

I think the whole point of the campaign is to drive people into the stores…and to get young people who tell time with their phones to wear watches…
