Great collection Farel especially like the pie pan constellations. I have a 1950's Seamaster bumper that my son has "borrowed", it has a re finished dial but is still nice looking, Omega's from that era are great

I wish I could say I had a favorite Omega but I like them all. In one of the posts one of you said that the years I collect were of the "golden era" of Omega. I could not agree more!

Thank you in advance.
I will try to get it out in the next few days and give some info on the movement serial number and a more solid date of production. I think the movement is a caliber 30 base introduced in 1939 and produced under different cal numbers as features like shock resistance were added. The size of the movement measures 30MM and the reason for the Cal 30 designation. I do not know the watch size and will measure it for you when I have it out. If it is not a cal 30 then it is the larger cal 37.6 or the very large cal 38.5.

These do not come up too often and I like the over sized case.

Farel

I pulled the watch out today and removed the snap back. It is indeed the earlier cal 30 (260) movement. The movement measures 30MM and the case 28 mm side to side not including he crown.

The movement serial number is 9628130 dating it to between 1939 and 1944 as this is the best guess Omega has. I think it is a 1944 gased on the applied numbers and case number in the 10,000,000 oh and the case is Stainless Steel.

I love this watch, it is oversized and with the roman dial it is unusual. This example is all original and almost NOS

What an amazing collection you have. Also amazing is your knowledge. Thanks for sharing the knowledge as much as sharing the pictures of a portion of your watch collection. I am also shocked to learn that OMEGA might have limited or no idea about the exact dates or origins of some of their watches. Is this normal in the industry?

Cheers,

I am not very familiar with Omega watches, but are all these collectible items, or are there common watches there as well? :)
