Mine was my 50th birthday present to myself. Something I'd always wanted.

The reason so many guys here own Submariners is the history that dates back to then, and the achievements of people wearing subs over the years. The Speedy has the same allure, being worn by legends over the last 50+ years, and the Pro version has remained almost untouched, with only very slight movement changes and luminova changes since the 60s.

I own three, including a 1965 105-003 and a 1966 105-012 (the actual model first worn on the Moon). I just added some significant history to my third Moon watch.

I just could not stop at one. First one is a 3572.50 with a dial and hands swap and the second is a 50th Anniversary "Patch" model.

A few of the modern Speedmaster Moon watches have passed though my hands over the past couple of years.
I agree with the thought that the Speedmaster Moon watch has the same historical significance as a Rolex Sub in a "collection" of watches.
My next one, currently being held for me by an AD until my next visit, is the brown dial sapphire sandwich, reference 311.30.42.30.13.001.
I prefer the Speedmaster sapphire crystal models over the traditional hesalite for everyday wear.

Add me to the list. Mine's from 1969 so doesn't have the First Watch On the Moon on the caseback for obvious reasons

Picked up a new Speedy Pro earlier this year. Wanted one ever since I parted with my Flightmaster awhile back. Great heritage and a great watch.

I have an 861 movement circa 1978. I get more people complementing me on the speedy than on my rolex gmt by far. Both are great watches, but the speedy is unique.

add my 3507 to the list. the the speedy with a 321, 861, or 1861 movement is like a Colt 1911 45auto. you can't improve perfection.

It's a great watch. I'm actually looking for a nice croc strap to change it up a bit. Definitely a keeper.

I've owned one for quite a while now.......it must be about 4 hours.

I wanted one for quite some time but now one came to me.

P.S. What is the water resistance of this model. Mine is still under warranty, but is it O.K. to wash it under the tap? I'm just not certain with those pushers on the side of the case.

If its a new one, they're rated to 30M supposedly but don't operate the pushers or crown while its wet.
