bye batman, hello president.
i picked up this beauty the other day,
its an 11038 from 1987, unpolished, original box, original punched papers, it looks hardly worn, with zero stretch. its running at plus 5 which i am delighted about, it takes my breath away, my interest in the brand has been totally rekindled, i took my time searching, and i got what i wanted from a superb independant vintage watch dealer. 36mm looks so right, you soon get over 40mm. regards. |

sorry, i meant 18038, 3055 movement,
so many numbers with these watches, i loved my gmt, but in all honesty, the almost 2 years of wearing it feels like a waste now, when i could have been wearing this, i know thats silly talk, but this thing is so classy, the yellow gold effect really is out of this world, when i was a kid growing up, i remember seeing this watch, being told it was a rolex, and its what i always thought a rolex should be, quintessential if you like. the watch originated in kowloon, hong kong, from one of the rolex AD's out there, its even got the outer sleeve as well as main box and papers, in my opinion, these are representing tremendous value against stainless steel, even if you bought one and it needed a rolex service, which mine doesnt its the best watch i have ever seen or owned by miles. love it. |

Wow what a great pickup. I have been looking for a minty 18038 or 18238 for a few months as well.
