Icon14 Two of my PAMs immortalised by Dangerous9!

Just had a look on the Dangerous9 blog for the first time in a while and the strap-creator legend that is John Glance has used my 689 and 737 to showcase his awesome Teju straps.

When watches look this awesome, I really couldn’t give a damn about ‘soft used markets’ and the other rubbish that the Panerai-haters are spouting.

Wear your Panerais and wear them proud, my friends! If you need convincing, check this out

I love the spirit of this post, Paul! Armchair internet “watch industry pros” are so tiresome....the only thing that matters is what one feels when one wears the watch.

Having said that, what I really take from your post is that you’re browsing John’s site. Nice! What’s the next strap? Any hints??

Hey Ruud:::
I did check the link out - and Wow! Seriously - looks so Great! I would be proud, too.

I'm glad hMr. Glance touted your 'collection'. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy; enjoy the recognition.

(Hope you're settled in and ready to enjoy Christmas.)

That last pic gave me heart pains! Glad it is safe and sound. That dark brown strap looks fantastic.

Fantastic pics and I'm sure it's a lot of fun seeing your watches being used in the blog.

As for the spirit of the OP, I am 100% in agreement. This hobby should be about passion and fun. I think Panerai embodies that perfectly. The people chasing down the latest trends and fretting over what others think of their watch selection are missing the point!

I got home today and couldn't wait to put my PAM on. I was wearing another watch all day.

Thank you, my friend

As Dan so succinctly said in another thread, the Panerai bashers are becoming tedious. No one puts an unmentionable to your head and makes you buy one. A Panerai is a purchase made with the heart; they should be bought by lovers of the brand. Serial flippers and ‘investors’ need not apply.

I make a point of checking in with John once in a while just to see what’s going on but this particular visit was because Edward’s looking for a blue strap for his 233. I was, ahem, looking to assist a fellow ‘risiti. Honest. No, really......

The Panerai spirit here is awesome. I’d love to have a get together with a bunch of guys from this section of the forum

I can’t wait to see what’s coming, either. I want a mainstream production 44mm 1950 Luminor with a black sandwich Cali dial on an Asso strap.

Thank you, D.

Mr. G is a great guy and I can’t big him up enough. I sent him a link to my thread on here where I posted pics of my little collection on the straps he created for me. He then emailed me and asked if he could use my pics on his website, which is a true measure of the man. An artist and a gentleman.

Aside from that, pick yourself up a PAM and you’ll see what the rest of us here are going on about. Do it D, you know it makes sense

If that last pic gave you heart pains, you should see the shot of my collection in their box balancing on the same rail on the balcony of my ex-condo in Singapore. Only 15 stories high

It really is cool seeing my watches on the blog.

As I’ve said on here previously, you buy a PAM with your heart not your head. You either get it or you don’t and you most certainly do

Those do look great. I had convinced myself that I no longer wanted a 737 but now I'm not so sure. Grrr...
