What is your opinion on this 1680 red sub?

I do have the choice to grab it and would like to know your opinion on the watch. Especially I like to know your opinion on the dial, the case (too mich polishing or not), the insert (newer one?) and all other details your trained eyes do see.

Thank you!

Obviously it's been polished, the lugs look a little thin but not a deal-breaker for me depending on the price. The insert is newer than the watch. Dial looks nice. Can't tell much about the crown guards. Bracelet looks pretty damn stretched. All depends on the price.

Whomever polished this in the past hated that top right lug. Left side is better but not great.

Just my 2 cents based on the pics provided.

Watch is on it's correct 9315 bracelet. Dial looks to be a mk6 in nice condition. Case is polished, I have seen better and I have seen worse. It all comes down to preference at that point. The insert is much later and belongs on a 5513. The pearl is likely a color altered aftermarket one. The hands are replacements. Tritium, but due to the miss matched patina, I say they are not original to this watch.

If the price is right and the watch speaks to you, go for it.

look at several more and build your knowledge, i am able to reject lots of watches now, where previously i would have thought they were good ones.

⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ Agree with all thoughts here. Only other thing I’d ask....is there a small chip on the outer edge of the dial between 6-7? Also, do you have pics of papers?

Case is a weakness in this watch overall. Pricing should take this into account.
