Alert Scam

Hi All,

I have been informed that a lot of fake rolex are coming in EU through french people living in china which are directly selling pieces using “snapchat”. Those pieces are a really nice copy and it’s difficult to see the difference without a deep check by expert.

This thread is not to talk about the fake that everyone here knows about but those watches are selling with a really good copy of guaranty card and box and some pieces are now in the market as “genuine”.

Here a print screen from the snapchat account where a guy was happy with a sale on chrono24 over 9000€ for a fake watch.

Please spread the information, everyone can get scam.

Its seems a guy successfully sold a fake watch on chrono24 as real, and was then messaging his supplier of the fake rolex (supplieri sthe one who took the screen shots).

grace a vous j'ai reussi a vendre une sub a 9000$ = thanks to you i was able to sell a sub for 9000
je vais vous envoyer la photo = I will send you a photo
j'attent ca = I'm waiting

le Mec ta paye = The guy paid you?
oui att je t'envoie la preuve = Yes, wait ill send you proof

from my understanding, the supplier is posting the conversation as marketing for his fake watches to show they're that good

Yes the supplier post a conversation between him and his customer about a sell of a fake rolex on chrono24.

The guy said to his supplier : i could sell your watch on chrono24 for 9000€. I will send you the picture of it.

The supplier said : i am waiting.

Then the guy sent the pic.

The supplier asked : did you get paid

And the guy said : yes i will send you the evidence, and he add 2 screenshots from chrono.

The seller use this to show that his fake watches can be sell as genuine.

Alert Scam

Damn that’s really bad. This cast doubt over anything but an AD purchase!

They are gloating in their successful scam. Just pisses me off that some poor person just bought a €9,000 fake watch.

I thought Chorno24 guaranteed authentic watches? Can't the guy get Chorno24 involved?

I'm in the process of buying a Datejust 41 from Kara's Watches off Chorno24, anybody dealt with them before?

If the guy notice the watch is fake at the delivery probably yes.

If it’s during a rolex service in 5 or 10 years i’am not sure .....

How would they guarantee the watches are authentic? Chrono 24 is just like anywhere else on the internet. Do your homework on anyone your buy from first, It's just an ebay for watches.

Have you noticed everyone on Chrono is a trusted seller? They're all trusted sellers...... until they aren't.

This is very scary. Rolex needs to move to a see-thru caseback like most of the other manufacturers. While the fake movements are very good there usually is a "giveaway" that can be spotted.

Man that sucks, to think that some poor person spent 9k and got duped on a fake watch is sad. What's even more infuriating is the "seller" seems to be gloating about getting away with it.

Guess the golden rule still holds true, do your research and buy the seller before anything else.

Their rules are for you to contact the seller first, they get 5 days to respond. Then if their is no resolution to notify the administration at Chrono24 and they will intervene. Good luck!

Where’s the news?

Each month some new scam will crop up. eBay, Chrono24 and other online marketplaces will have replica’s.

Buyers who aren’t savvy are the primary targets.

you make a very good point, and I tend to fully agree.

But is it possible that these extremely good fakes can make there way into the grey market with "trusted sellers"? not that the trusted sellers we all know very well would ever deliberately purchase / sell a fake, but if these are as good as they claim to be then even the "trusted sellers" may get duped. This is a scary scenario because it means "buying the seller" may still pose problems.

No - but anyone concerned with that should be working with their AD only.

Someone bought a watch online using some photos as a guide and they got taken. Its an old story repeated ad nauseam (sadly).

That doesn't mean its a mythical "super fake" that even a dealer couldn't spot. It just means its a watch the buyer didn't do enough homework on it or the seller. The quality of the fake isn't the issue here, it's the buyer being too trusting.

Dealers state their reputation on authenticity. It's their business.

Buyers rely too much on box and papers these day. Somehow they think that if the watch comes complete then it has to be genuine.

Personally boxes and papers don't influence me in my decision to buy a watch, but whenever I buy one online, I get it authenticated as soon as I receive it.

Box and Papers are to me important. I like to have the warranty card with the serial number and compare it to the watch then run the serial number to see if its valid. I check the wind, how the hands move etc...afterwards but matching serial numbers are a plus.
