Just look at their feedback. Been around for a long time selling ultra high end timepieces with a very good record.

Good luck with your search.

Make sure you ask every conceivable question before you purchase. They've been discussed here before, some good, some not so good. I've purchased from them twice - after the second deal, I've never been back.

Some of their offerings are consignment, study the pix carefully. They didn't disclose the big scratch on the dial below the coronet (which I thought was lint), or the terrible bracelet repair job with the black burn marks on the inside, on this OysterQuartz I bought from them.

They did however honour their money back guarantee. They just didn't mention that it would block me from bidding on their auctions for 12 months.

I never was thrilled with their listings. After reading about your issues with them and those of Springer, I do believe I'll stick with our forum sellers or my local A D.

I dealt with Kip. Don't know if he's still there, but it doesn't matter, my opinion remains as I posted earlier.

I would stay away from this seller. He might have received many +ve feedbacks from selling pocket watches and inexpensive stuff but I personally think they are very dishonest business people.

I said this from my recent experience buying from them. I bought a SS Zenith Daytona from them and the case was poorly refinished and there was a small chip on the crystal. They cunningly manipulated and pressured eBay to remove my -ve feedback I left for them. They sold everything under "private auction" at eBay for this reason. I am sure they have done this to many unhappy buyers but it just wouldn't show at eBay's feedbacks forum. Anyway, I have no reason to bad mouth this company otherwise but I just don't want to see any fellow Rolex collectors or users to spend huge sum and not getting what is worth by buying from Astorlive. Don't just buy from someone with high +ve feedbacks but do some research about the company first.

If you are buying a $300 Hamilton pocket watch you might not care about lots of things that you would for $5000-$12,000 Rolex. I simply can't believe they would send me the Daytona in such a condition and hoped that I would accept it. BTW, you can't see those problems from their ebay pictures and I am sure they purposely show them in low res and hided the defects. I went back to their ebay posting and all the pictures showed the watch in much better condition than it actually was when I received it.

This company does not have an address and a phone number posted on their website or any of their listings at ebay. They never call me to discuss the issue with my purchase.

Good luck!

+1. I see some very experienced and respected members praising this seller, but my experiences echo those above. Never did a Rolex deal but did do one with a high end Patek and it wasn't right from the start. As just one example, I asked what 'collector new' meant. The answer was ambiguous and I could not get a simple description of whether it was actually 'new' or 'like new' or....

I think this is one reason why we see such a mixed bag of reviews in this thread.

When you buy from the trusted members here on the Forum, my experience is that questions are always promptly and accurately addressed. And product descriptions are incredibly accurate. As they should be. This was not my experience with Astor.

FYI: sued By Rolex for selling “genuine” Rolex with non-Rolex parts. Just Google Crowley Rolex, federal injunction comes up.

I am constantly amazed at how a 6 year old thread can be brought back to life. How far must you have to scroll to find a thread this old?

Seriously.

I’d never known David SW ever replied to a pedestrian thread, ironically vetting a seller, if it had not come up.
