Anyone into Bremont?

Saw a Bremont section in my local AD and was really drawn to some pieces.

Really like that they are made in Britain with some unique and great designs, being themselves rather than copying other brands.

So, anyone into them? Which models do you own?

Thanks

Concur ……………….. plus the grandpappy’s airplane crash story and how it relates to watches seems quite over the top fictional drama.

Their case design is quite cool, but I can’t get past the lies and fakery !

But if you like it go for it. People still buy Panerai....

I picked up the Broadsword Recon LE with the sandwich dial when released, very pleased with it. It's funny, the movement story is still brought up often when asking for thoughts on Bremont, but you rarely hear anything about the Panerai PAM318 movement or the Seiko based Tag cal 1887 movement.

Now that Bremont has a real in-house movement, I think it's time to cut them some slack.

Other, bigger names have been called out for doing the same thing. This feels a bit like picking out a journeyman cyclist from 15 years ago and slating him for taking EPO!

My problem is I have had 2 and have sold both. I really want to support them but just haven’t felt the need to put their watch on in the morning! They are living in a tough space so they have done very well getting to where they are. Got new investment I believe so keen to see what comes from them. Hopefully one day I will see and try on one of their watches and know it will stick.

I agree, earlier days higher end brands were claiming "inhouse", IWC, Panerai come to mind.

You scratch the surface and often the term "modified ETA" came up.

The funny part of the story is, that it‘s not (real inhouse)

Oh trust me, you hear of those as well all the time.

My AD carried them for a bit but dropped the line for lack of interest and repair issues with the brand. Too many repairs on watches sold. So many other watches and brands in this price point that are better for me that I just look past them. Resale is also horrid in the U.S. Try to get a Trusted Seller or other dealer to even talk to you about them. A strong pass.

Another brand tarnished by their made up stories. Panerai slightly different as they did have a history of sorts (and actually made some cool watches). Some Bremont are quite cool, but I’d avoid new unless getting a considerable discount.

Yes, I recently picked up one of the first Vipers off the production line.

I have the Argonaut, pretty happy with it! I got roughly 20+% off, this is a great price for a watch like this. To be honest most of the line up I think is to expensive (even with 20% off) but the Argonaut is a cool watch and wears nice. Love the fabric strap.

Definitely a happy Bremont owner! (Also I never thought about owning a Bremont, but come on for this money ±2500 EUR it's really cool)

I don’t know who it was here but a few years ago I read “As a boy I once dreamed of owning a watch…named after a French farmer.” I never got that out of my head when I think of Bremont.
