Got a call….

It’s been a very “spendy” few weeks for me in the watch world. I’ve been trying to diversify my collection to not be as Rolex concentrated, and looking at quality vs quantity.
I expressed interest recently to a couple of the trusted sellers near me for the 15407ST….I received a call yesterday with an acceptable price point that I’d be willing to pull the trigger.
I certainly wasn’t thinking I’d get this opportunity this quickly, but I’m not going to pass it up.
I’ve spent a quite a bit recently, and I will lose a bit of money on the transaction/trade but, I’m going to move forward with a 2 pieces out, 1 in, (plus cash) deal. Leaving me with four Rolex I really love, and three non-Rolex I really love.
Haven’t decided which two I’ll be trading yet, I just know a few that absolutely won’t be leaving. Most likely a couple will leave that’ll be easy to replace down the road, or won’t be missed much.

If all goes according to plan…I’ll have a deal done, and the watch on my wrist Tuesday evening.

Good idea. I started doing the same. Rolex just doesn’t hit the same for me anymore.

Interesting moves. I have gone down the consolidation route many times. I have found I typically circle back around and go back to what I liked to start with. Other brands other than Rolex appeal to me until I actually own them. The honeymoon phase wears off and I am back to wearing my Rolex/Tudor/Seiko/Hamilton combinations more. The new piece sits and then I get to the part where I resent having a watch that cost so much just sitting and me not thinking it is special. I then usually dance around a bit before I go back to what has always worked. I take a beating in trade values and it turns into an expensive experiment that I already know the outcome. But I still do it every few years. Good luck with your new watch. I am sure it is great.

Congrats in advance! Can't wait to see some pics. The dial is a real treat to look at. Also, you'll be amazed at how accurate the double balance movement is in time keeping.

I agree diversity is key for me and mixing it up with pieces that all have something special or a story are my goal

Very nice collection! How do you like the 5524G? I’ve always liked the watch but wondered what the ownership experience is like. Does it get much wrist time for you?

Thank you. I love the 5524 and wear it in regular rotation. 2-4 times a week. I’ve had the 5712, 5990, as well as other Pateks….this is my favorite.

Got a call….

That’s what I’m talking about!! I support this 10000%
Excited for you

Try not to worry too much about the trade in numbers. I know they seem bad, ask me how I know, but what you’re trading for is down too and ultimately these more special pieces like this will be stronger and you’d probably be worse off with what you had $ wise.

Going to be a nice addition to your collection, Richard!

Are you opting to keep the SANR along with the openwork AP?
