A (sorta late) Christmas Miracle!- My FIRST Rolex!
Some of you might have read a previous thread of mine asking for reputable vintage Rolex stores in LA. I was saddened to find out that many have closed their doors for the holiday's and would reopen with the new year.
So today while shopping in town(on vacation in LA), I decided to stop by a local Rolex AD, Geary's on Rodeo Drive. I have visited the store before but was not impressed with their service the first time around. This visit was different, I was greeted with a friendly staff that had a certain excitement for each rolex piece they showed me. The salesmen at Geary's were the nicest and professional I have meet. Living in Miami and use to the poor service at Mayor's and Torneau, this was a refreshing change. The first watch I tried on was a 18k/SS Daytona with a white face, I liked it a lot but still had my heart set out for a full on S/S Daytona. For the past couple of months I have been searching local AD's for a S/S Daytona and was very close to buying a preowned one. With no luck I was close to giving up on the hunt. After trying the 18k/SS Daytona I asked if the store had a S/S Daytona. The clerk told me their other store is much bigger and might have the watch. After light conversation and a transition into the S/S Daytona topic, the clerk then said the store I was in, might have a S/S Daytona with a deposit, but if there was no deposit I could have it. The clerk then asked his manager who shook his head and the watch was mine! When the clerk told me they had the watch, my heart nearly stopped. I was full of excitement. It's funny how a watch can bring so much joy! I really did not expect them to have the watch especially since it is the day after Christmas and being a high traffic store right on Rodeo Drive. The clerk did mention something about storing watches in the back until after Christmas, but I didn't really catch all of what he was trying to convey. Today was really a Christmas Miracle P.S.- Will upload more pics when I get a new camera hahaha |

Hey Congrats... I am from Miami as well and I hate the ADs over here as well... Just for my curiosity is that a V series and did you get a discount? I am asking because I just got a SS White Daytona at a Miami AD 2 weeks ago and wanted to see how the market is on the west coast.

Congratulations, nice catch! I had the same experience at Geary's (except for the buying part!) last time I was there; nice folks.

I'm not surprised to hear the service is poor at Mayor's. I went to school with the Getz kids in Miami and they were [not real nice].
