New strap for the JLC

Along with getting the PanoReserve, I had ordered a honey brown strap for my JLC and picked it up on the weekend as well (I didn't want to have 2 black strapped watches at this time).

I was actually hoping for the colour to be a bit darker and thought I was going to be disappointed with it, but when I saw it on the watch, things changed. It's hard to see it well in this photo (I'll take more sometime) but in person the lighter brown strap really makes the blue moonphase indicator come alive compared to the black strap. I haven't worn it much since the GO has been on my wrist since I got it, but I'm sorta anxious to wear this one too. Almost like getting a new watch!!

Nice watch Al but I would prefer a much darker brown with the JLC,but
out of the two watches, I much prefer the Panoreserve, now thats a very nice
looking watch.

Another great looking watch, Al. Have you considered a black strap for the JLC? I bet it would like striking.

I think it looks really sharp, and I'm not big on brown straps. You can see the blue coming out a bit more. As Dman and BruceS have taught me, straps can make an old watch brand new again.

I guess it pays to read the entire post before asking stupid questions.

I still think it would look great with a black strap, though. So what if you have two black strapped watches. Unless you're like Daren and need a different strap for each day of the week.

A nice dark blue strap would suit as well, would go with the moonphase indicator
brown looks good with gold watches.

It does look good on a black strap (see pics in my review of this watch), but I need something to wear when I wear blue or brown with my brown crocodile belt - I know, I'm being anal, but I like to have my colours somewhat coordinated.....brown shoes + brown belt + black watch strap = faux pas in my books

Interesting - I was thinking on the weekend that I paid more for the brown "American alligator" strap for the JLC than I did for a complete, genuine, Australian crocodile belt! I'll post pics of them side by side when I get home tonight.

Blue would be good as well, so that might be another option down the road....

Each day of the week??? Daren could change his straps a couple times a day, each day of the week. LOL

From what I understand, the whole strap thing can be more addictive than the watch thing.

I think the brown strap looks pretty good in the picture. The real thing must look stunning.

I usually do change them that often.

And it it worse than the watch addiction.

Nice strap, Al. I like that one on the JLCs. It has a "casual Friday" look. :-)

I got a new strap for my Master Control... exactly the same as the one that came with it, but shorter.

Don't know if I'll keep the MC long, as it's really too big (40mm) for my little wrist. I'd like to find a nice dress/casual watch around 35-36mm. I'm thinking about a simple Patek 5196 if I can find one cheap enough (used.)

Hey Peter, good to see you posting again!

My strap is also a short one, which is the other reason I bought one at this time. I find it much better than the regular strap - the deployant no longer digs into my wrist! I agree that it gives the watch a less formal look, which I like very much.

Good luck on your hunt for a Patek! I like the 3919 myself.
