It’s just like the canvas snoopy strap just in blue. The band is around 200 and the clasp was around 240. Both are from Omega, Pretty pricey but the quality is amazing. I plan to get the black one so I can put it on my speedy as well.

I agree. But value retention isn’t a bad thing. Just when it’s run amuck like in the current climate and it’s all anyone cares about. Love this watch, big congrats. It’s beautiful. Love the ceramic dial.

Awesome pics. Considering one myself. Thoughts on 2 tone yellow or sedna gold vs steel both on rubber?

Wow, that looks amazing, wouldn't mind seeing more of that. Thanks for posting.
A great benefit of the bump to 42mm.

BTW, what is the Seamaster lug size? Thinking of getting a strap for the watch as well.

Beautiful watches and I am seriously considering a blue one on a bracelet myself. But I also really find the sedna gold one on rubber interesting, maybe the black dial in that case. Anyone have a two tone on rubber or bracelet?

not a fan of two tone normally but either blue or black with the sedan gold looks awesome

mind you the steel is so versatile and looks really good on either of the omega nato straps I have purchased for it - black and grey stripes

no problems walking into a shop now and buying whichever dial or strap choice you want - and with a discount

now there's an idea Rolex might try - selling watches that the ordinary customer wants actually in the shop window and not held back for a "VIP" customer or put on a pointless wait list

Haha it’s a buyer’s dream, and a flipper’s nightmare. Still, as I’m currently in a buying mood, I rather appreciate the ease of purchasing the new Seamaster. Also, I can’t help but agree with comments on the two-tone (black and gold) version: it’s stunning. I’m going to be lying in wait for those to pop-up second hand!!

It’s all very bizarre. I saw a pre-owned seamaster for sale by David SW that was listed for more than I paid new from an AD.

It should not be a problem to find and try out one in any of the Omega boutiques and they should be readily available. Although it is better to buy from ADs as the discount will be better.

Thanks! may consider strap options down the road.

It's a different business model. Rolex now wants to make their products more exclusive and that means controlled supply and limited availability and ADs are setting up guidelines to determine if you are good enough to be their customer. Omega does the opposite and wants to sell a watch to anyone who wants to buy a watch.

The fact is that many people want what they cannot get ( perhaps for the brag factor when they finally got one ), and Rolex sales numbers are doing very well despite so many people complaining they can't get hold of a popular Rolex SS watch. However, that opens up a market for brands like Omega to fill the void and sell watches to the frustrated masses, if they are smart enough to exploit. This new Seamaster is a good start.

Totally agree on the last part - if brands like Omega and GS keep the momentum they have w their 2018 offerings, they will do very well over the next few years. This thread and some of the threads over on the Seiko sub forum are a testament to that.

Look awesome on those straps. Is the non leather on the new SMP blue in color?

Do you know the model number? Thanks

Thanks, it’s blue with white stitch, it’s from Omega. Cwz005345 that might be it, it’s the number on the strap.

Guys, two comparison reviews I found just in.

I feel the second reviewer has a slight Rolex bias but then both eventually concluded that the new 2018 Seamaster is the overall better watch but then acknowledge that many people will still chose the Rolex because "It's a Rolex".

Happy watching.

Maybe it is time to change Ben's thread title as it has developed into a great resource for owners and potential owners.

The reviewer failed to mention that the Omega bezel markings meets the ISO diver standard but the Rolex submariner doesn’t.

You could call the Rolex Submariners a divers watch at a stretch but you can’t call it a ‘diver’.

I am going to have a close look at that Omega.

But that He valve??

Good idea. This has evolved into some sort of picture and resource thread for the new seamaster. Let me ask the mod.
