I’m in Houston for client engagement and had the opportunity to visit the boutique. They gave me a copy of the Omega Lifetime magazine:

I picked mine up from a local AD last week. My first experience buying from an AD as I want to start building a relationship. Great experience and I'm loving the different shades of blue. I have the OEM rubber strap on order as well.

Received mine yesterday. I am blown away. I really liked it in pictures, but I don’t think I’ve ever been more surprised by a watch in my life. It’s so much better in person.

There are so many fine details to enjoy. The wave pattern is generally not visible until the light hits it just right. Always a pleasant surprise! While the watch is primarily brushed, there’s a surprising amount of polish to it, but by no means overdone.

I love the small touches of red, but my favorite feature - and quite unexpected - is the hand set is damn cool!

I’m also really glad I went with the blue model as I already have several black watches.

Talk about cool details....Check these out from the back side of the watch:

1. Omega logo on the buckle
2. “OMEGA” verbiage on the first rubber strap holder
3. “Seamaster” verbiage on the second rubber strap holder
4. Twisted lug design on the buckle emulating the case design
5. The last pin hole is a triangle like the dive pip at 12 o’clock

For the price, the Seamaster delivers amazing value. I have been "preaching" about this watch to my friends who will care to listen. At least they really should check it out first. Congrats on your purchase, nice collection you got there.

Agree, it’s nice to see this watch getting the recognition it deserves! Some great photos you all! The fact that Omega can deliver a watch of this quality at such a great price point, makes it hard to justify double the price for a different brand.

Thanks gents!

I totally agree about this watch. Regardless of which brand you like, I wouldn't discount this one until you've seen it in person. I had a black Rolex GMT but thought it was too similar to my Explorer II, so I unloaded it and bought a new Panerai and this Omega with the proceeds. Couldn't be happier.

I feel like Omega has really stepped up their game in the last few years. Very impressed with their lineup right now, but this watch in particular.

I'm usually not fond of reflections in a watch dial when taking watch pics but in the case of this Omega, it kind of make it looks even more interesting don't you think?

That’s a cracking collection. Love the brand variety. Only missing a Chronograph (if you like them of course). All other bases nicely covered!

Thanks Steve! I'd love a Speed Pro to check the chronograph box. I'd also really like an Omega DeVille Prestige to check the dress watch box.

Omega has majorly stepped up their game. Super affordable (relatively speaking), readily available and they are just stunning!

I'm very tempted but it's too close to Basel for me.

How would you describe the rubber strap regarding fit and comfort?

Just like literally everything else with this watch, my reservations about the rubber strap - and a few others - evaporated immediately upon holding it in my hand. I never saw this watch in person when I bought it. I know that's dangerous, but I had a great feeling on this one. I'm so glad I pulled the trigger. The rubber strap is comfortable and fits great. I really love it!

But as for Omega, it will have no impact, aren't they gone or do they have another year in contract?

This Seamaster was just launched last Baselworld. So I doubt they will update it so soon. So no brainer, get it.

Happy to hear you love the watch. It did had the chance to try it out before I bought mind. One look at it under natural light and I am already 100% convinced. Frankly, this watch has exceeded all my expectations.

I think this year they are still participating in Baselworld. No?

Does the new Omega Seamaster make the Exp II look small or is it just me?

Been debating picking a new Omega up, but the Exp II size is about my max

don't see the point in waiting for baselworld if it is rolex/tudor that you are referring to as you cant buy any of last year's desirable models yet almost a year on - and that's for tudor

GMT and BB58 are still very hard to find

GMT BLRO is a unicorn owned mainly by "special" customers

SMP 300M is a new and great watch you can actually buy and at MSRP or less

you are missing out on an amazing piece if you wait for next years shiny pieces that you will struggle to own

If anyone is interested, I’ve got a black dial 2018 Omega Seamaster for sale. Brand new, only worn for 2 days.

In this picture: yes. In real life: no. I'll snap a better picture. The Seamaster kind of pops up on the little cushion and the Explorer II is on a thinner cushion so it kind of sags.

They both definitely look small next to the Radiomir!

Here’s a better pic. I’d say on the wrist the Explorer II feels and wears bigger. On the rubber strap the SMP wears really nicely, but probably slightly smaller than the Explorer II.

that is a very good picture - I have said often the SMP wears a lot "smaller" than 42mm suggests
