Using the GMT functionality (on a GMT ou a Submariner)

I'd appreciate very much if you could tell me how do you use the GMT function, be it in a GMT or a Explorer. Thanks in advance for the free (and practical) lesson .
And if it is possible to, somehow do something similar on a Submariner, using the rotating bezel.

the GMT hand ( usually the colored one ), completes one rotation around the dial every 24hours, moving with the minute hand as you turn the crown. You'd read it against the bezel scale. If it were 5:45 in the evening, you'd set it to 17:45 against the bezel markings.
Some people set it to their "Home" time, some to GMT. You set this first, along with the date, by pulling the crown all the way out to it's 3rd position, ( pos 1 is unscrewed for winding, pos 2 is 1 "click" to jump the hour hand back and forth ).

the "regular" hour hand is also set by the crown when it's pulled out to the first click, it jumps forward and backwards in one hour increments, ( without stopping the watch ), and is read against the usual 12 hr scale. If I was at "home" I'd have it set to read the same time as the GMT hand. When I travel, I'd pull out the crown and jump the regular hour hand forwards or backwards to match the time of whichever zone I'm in, so if I were to travel from the UK to the west coast of America, my GMT hand might read 19:15, the hour hand would read 10:15 (am).
If the bezel rotates, you can click it forwards or backwards to match a 3rd zone. I might move the triangle marker back 3 hours so I'd additionally have US east coast time.

On the GMT, I set the GMT to home time and the hour hand to local time.

You can use the sub to time things as I do all the time, and for GMT just set the local time and remember that you’re x hours ahead/behind. Of course that’s not GMT, but I think it’s a fairly small set of users that want true GMT. Most want home time, or time where their other family is, etc. Perhaps a subset of global business people use GMT as a base time and know what the +/- for all their key clients is? I would think something like the Patek World Time would be better for that, but you can’t take that one in the pool.

A bit of a weird question - Has the seller not told you how to do it while you are purchasing it?

Didn´t bought any GMT. Juts to know, better, to be sure. Nothing like effective practice.

I use the rotating bezel of my sub for reading second time zone by setting the pearl back or ahead from the top depending of time differents and consider the perl as 12 o’clock for the second time zone.

GMT home, hour hand local. While at home GMT Zulu, and hour hand local. Although in truth I rarely wear the ExpII unless traveling.
