Mastermixer, call paypal ASAP. Trust me. I was scammed out of some hard to get shoes and the seller did a good job at making sure I was out of luck. They sold me a pair of Jordans that were to release in over 3 months. Which means on the release day, I technically paid them to wait in line and send me a pair. I have done this many times before and it worked perfectly...just not 3 months in advance. On eBay and paypal, they only protect the buyer and seller for a certain time frame...not up to 3 months. Theres nothing they can do once that time frame comes. But after calling paypal 3 times I got hold of someone who wanted to help and they went out of their way to make sure I was sorted out. My tip to you, call them, let them know what is going on...if they dont seem helpful...call again.
Good luck |

You will see the tracking when she posts it in ebay resolution. Or you can just simply ask her. As soon as you figure out what day it will arrive, make sure to refuse it. The package will be send back to sender.

That's terrible. I hope everything works out for you. If things dont go your way can you report the watch stolen? Then if it ever goes in for service maybe it will be confiscated. Of course she will not be able to provide proof of purchase! I am going to ban her user name from my own eBay auctions.

I definitely think reporting the scam to the police to get a case/crime reference number to take to Paypal/eBay would be worthwhile. I can't imagine a scammer would get the police involved. Good luck! |

unfortunately this type of scam is extremely difficult to prove and protect against & paypal has decided to siding with the buyer is in their best interest...
fact is going to her house or posting a picture may not be such a great idea as there is little guarentee that the name and person havent been made up as well .... seems lkke any of these things could backfire and create a counter suit or even constitute a crime of various possibilities... in recent news in floride the wrong address was given out for the neighborhood watch guy... this caused a nice and more importantly unrelated elderly couple to be harrassed and forced out of their home...

Will it help prevent this sort of scam (in the future) if seller notarised the package and parcel # prior sending?
cost would probably be minimal ($20 or so) to save this headache? |

This is a classic "he said, she said" scenario...keep good documentation and write it off as a business loss...

simply signing off on the contents of a package that isnt shipped at that exact moment just wont work ... the chain of custody is lost

This type of theft infuriates me to no end. It is STEALING plain and simple. I wonder how they would feel if someone stole something from them or maybe from a loved one? I truly hope these scumbags get what is coming to them. Every time I see something like this, it makes me dig in deeper against the scammers. I hope it works out for you, Robert. I'm pulling for ya.

Record on HD camera/phone the process of accepting (if possible) and openning (for sure) of the parcel. Be sure to specify what you expect to receive. Definitely report the theft to local and call CT police. Video/Police reports are going to be the strong support for your case with Paypal.

That's what I'm saying.....
For the record, I subscribed to this thread long ago not trying to go off topic, and I hope everything works out....alas I have no other insight as to how to proceed than what's already been mentioned.

Now you just need to wait and get a picture of her wearing the real Breitling!
