Whether or not it was a joke, I am sure you had good intentions. That was an honorable thing to do, and I for one appreciate it. Good to know someone is looking out.

Regarding two pictures in this thread, the second one linked, the first strikes me as a boob job; the second some boob without a job.

If you get the watch back tell Paypal she sent you a rock. ;)

Seriously, I hope they side in your favor but as others have said they usually always side with the buyer. This is why I'd never sell anything more than a couple hundred dollars on eBay. Theres way too many scammers out there nowadays!!

Good luck OP!

Robert,

It will do no good refusing the package. I'm not a watch expert but I have been buying and selling on eBay for 12.5 years.

Once she shows that you refused the package Paypal will grant her the refund. She is obviously reading here so I will refrain from making suggestions here. Having sold on eBay for 12.5 years though as a general thing I have become very well aquinted with the ladies at the Post Office. Ebay wants you to do all shipping through them. Buy your postage and what have you. Not me. If I have an item that is more than I'm willing to lose it goes to the Post Office and I have one of the ladies watch me pack it and box it.

I then hand it to her. They will take their Priority Tape and tape it up for you. If I know someone is sending something back, I tell them to hold it and I open it in front of them.

I have a real asset in pursueing Postal Fraud then. You are far more likely to get things resolved this way than through the authorities for reasons I could explain in a PM. There are other ways, but again, not on the forums.

eBay/Paypal cares less about your proof. Their policies encourage fraud.

This is prime for reddit. I find this particular fraud requires
A larger audience. I'm sure the perp won't appreciate the
Interest she'll surely receive. I'd give that a shot. In the back
Of my mind I think you may have some identity theft going
On in concert. Has anyone visited the physical address used
For shipping?

I certainly hope this works out in your favor. It is so discouraging to learn that EBay / PayPal frequently sides with the buyers.

I have been considering selling my watch on EBay for some time now but now I think not.

This sounds more like a federal issue. Since it went across state
Lines. FTC or something like that. If this person is trying to scam you out
Of 5k imagine what she has tried to do to others as well. You are probably
Not her first.

My logic: Someone earlier wrote it's a classic case of "he said, she said" and nailed it.

By the end of the day this isn't an oversight from Robert or her but one or the other side has deliberately pulled off a nasty scam. This got me thinking why (motive). Then it clicked: False sense of entitlement. Yup, guilty as charged. She did it again and it is her false sense of entitlement !!! First the fake headlights and now a timepiece she can't afford. Tsk.

Seriously, I hope someone nails her and this works out for you Robert. Good luck.

Could be. He sure knows about it becuase he saw this thread/his account posted here then closed his FB account. So he is either supprised with the actions of his other half in which case I am not sure why she told him? Or he is aware that this is going on which is more likley given his quick closing of his account.

BTW: This whole I am calling my law office on everybody business makes me laugh. It really speaks to who we are dealing with. What an example to set for childern. This theard will live forever on the internet. One day soon the kid will google his/her mom and this will come up on the internet search.

i'm beginning to think that perhaps she has made a mistake and that by accident she has mixed up the contents of two different packages.

If she's reading, I'd definitely recommend that she take that 'approach'. Say sorry for 'accidently' mixing up two watches. Return the real watch to correct her 'mistake', thereby doing the right thing by the seller and perhaps he will drop the highly compelling case against her.

Robert is a true gentleman

I bought my first Rolex from Robert and he made the process easy and I received more than I expected, as a total neophyte, I would have been easy prey if that was Robert's game, which it is NOT.
Good luck and I hope it all works out in your favor and the scammers get what they deserve.

BINGO.

Internet = powerful tool!

Most people now - employers - interested parties etc - check people or businesses out on the internet.

it's an easy thing to occur. you open both parcels then you get distracted by the kids and things get mixed up etc etc. happens all the time. honest mistake, easily sorted.

I don't think you confuse a 5 thousand dollar REAL watch with a fake one especially when you are going to file a claim.....

Be like you filing an insurance claim for your 10k diamond bracelet only to realize it was actually the other CZ one......
