Just start a new thread of your own. Most people coming back to this one will just be responding to the OP.

Man it must be tough in Russia
so much corruption, and i dont think you could go anywhere wearing a real rolex, youd get mugged for sure.
Hate to say this but maybe wearing a fake in Russia is better? and safer?
Glad I live in Canada, I can go anywhere with a real rollie on my wrist and never worry

A guy tried to rob me on the street in Toronto a few years ago. I'm not sure Canada is any safer than Russia. I am sure pepper spray works though.

And BTW, the experience of being threatened is no better if you're stuff isn't valuable. If the mugger is attracted to a watch, the fake will pull you into the same dire circumstance. Mugged is mugged, whether you watch is junk or not.

Unfortunately at the moment it is not a new thing. :-( I was surprised that my theme up and then began to discuss the dangers of life in Russia))) really want a new watch but with the exchange rate could not afford them .... while wearing the original watch in Russia is not dangerous! P. S.- specifically for Canada ;-)

Stumbled on this thread and just read all 8 pages and 225 posts. Wow, what a wild up and down ride.
Buying a Rolex is generally a significant event for all of us so I can't help but feel bad for anyone who ends up getting scammed in the process.
Timir, Good luck when you are ready to make a purchase.
