It really does. I tried the 34mm, 36mm, and the 39mm on multiple times next to each other and I was surprised just how well the 34mm wore on my 6.75” wrist. 34mm carries a negative stigma because people assume that it’s too small because “it’s a 34mm”.

That’s a tough one. The look is similar I love the heritage of the explorer, so that would be my choice.

OP 116000 Blue 3-6-9 Arabic Dial

I have a 14270, a 114270 (both given to each of my daughters on their 21st) and this blue dial OP......

The best of both worlds as they're essentially the same watch anyways, and all 3 of them are fantastic watches.....

Es very nice, pero le falta el triángulo a las 12. Muy importante.

Having both is the perfect option, cause you cant go wrong with any of them, but the OP rings a better bell to me.

I was faced with this very choice and I went OP. However, I still want/will pick up a 114270 when I have the opportunity.

I had an Exp1 but prefer my OP because of the sticks, cleaner dial and larger coronet. It can dress down but has the advantage of dressing up.

Both great watches and there is no loser here.

The OP is the watch that summited Mount Everest and to which the Explorer was thereafter created to commemorate.

Would you call the OP a iconic sports watch? I wouldn’t. Dude you’re quoting the obvious. The OP is wack. The explorer is not. JMO lol

Both are great watches, but some people are prone to marketing.

Explorer without question for me too because of 1/ the thinner lugs, 2/ Mercedes hands and 3/ Arabic markers. I don't perceive it as a sports watch, though.

The OP with a white dial is beautiful too, but the thick lugs of most modern Rolexes don't do it for me.

lol i guess for you a rotating bezel is only thing that qualifies as a sports watch. To me it’s the hands, dial, and bracelet

The one you can get from an AD near you. I faced the same choice and went in looking for the OP in blue or black dial. AD didn't have it but did have an Exp I under the counter still in its shipping coffin. 20 minutes later I walked out with it. A bird in the hand type of decision for me. It has been on my wrist for a bit over a week now. If I had insisted on the OP I could still be looking.

Explorer for me, been wearing mine for 4 months, haven't get tired of the dial yet. Sold my 36mm Seamaster Professional to fund the 114270, best decision ever.

Explorer all day. I don't know why more people don't have them. More iconic, hold their value better (not that it matters to some), I like the aesthetics of them more.
