Am I the only member that has never liked the Daytona?

I’ve been interested in Rolex for about 10 years now since I was 20 years old. Everyone I know, including non Rolex owners are obsessed with the Daytona. Its never done a thing for me. It’s on the bottom of the list. But it seems to be the end all be all even over the sub. I’m not starting this thread to cause a debate. But does anyone else feel underwhelmed by the Daytona or am I just mental?

The only one I really like is the 6241 panda dial. But that’s more of a rare mythical species at this point

If you hate or love the Daytona I’d love to hear why! Would be great to hear from multiple perspectives

I'm not a fan really. So there's two of us, at least.

I liked it.

Not for long, though.

About 30 days.

I felt that way before so you are definitely not the only one.

However opinion can change. Now I am a big fan of Daytona. Just got the black 500c and waiting for the white one.

OK, I was initially disinterested due to pricing and demand. I finally picked up a 116500C Black and my feeling changed. 1) the ceramic bezel improved the ruggedness of the model 2) it seems I really can live without a date, and 3) seems I also find frequent use for a stopwatch, much more so than a GMT movement for example. Now I'm not certain that I'd have a Daytona as a one watch, however, having it with alternates for diving and travel make it a great, comfortable, and desirable watch. I'm sold.

Not my cup of tea, but I’ll probably come around and start salivating over it soon enough...

I've never been a fan since I tried on the Daytona. Way way too small in my opinion and i never use a chrono function but I do use a date complication everyday.

I love mine, but not any more than my GMT LN. It wears nicely on my skinny wrist, and I like to wear it when I’m trying to go dressy casual. My GMT is more my everyday piece.
But it looks different on everyone. I think it matches me, but it doesn’t look good on my brother.

I love the design of the Daytona. I love the idea. I love the history. But alas, it is not for me. I've owned 4 of them. I doubt I'll ever own another one.

I'd like it a lot more if they didn't wear so small. (IMO)

My experience is much the same as Lee’s as I use the chrono at least 4 days a week. I have the white dial ceramic and much prefer it’s bezel over the ss version, which I’ve previously owned. Agree, however, that it might not work as an only watch which is why I also have a GMT, a great travel watch.

The beauty of this hobby is that tastes evolve. I can’t see myself wearing a few of the watches I’ve owned in the past. By the same token, I didn’t really like the Daytona at the beginning of my journey and now it takes up a large part of my watch rotation.

I am not a big fan of Daytona as well and always felt why not buy the cheaper watch with arguably one of the best history ... Speedmaster & a sub to go with it and you probably have 2 iconic watches

100% agree with this. Would take a sub and speedy combo over Daytona any day of the week

I am old and my eyesight is poor. I can hardly see the hands on a Daytona. If someday I get to own one it will just be so I can say I have a Daytona. My daily wearer is a 216570 black.

You're not alone. I don't like it and don't see what the appeal is. It wears small too.

I don’t own a Daytona but I like them mostly because they wear perfectly on my wrist from a size perspective. Perfect fit for me.

Only reason I like it is for the rarity, as a piece to wear? No thanks. But I do want one because it is so sought after.
