Omega Seamaster 300

I wouldn’t usually stray too far from Rolex, but man, are these nice! Spied these two in AD whilst travelling and they real caught my eye. Can anyone comment on general availability?

One of my fav omega.

Lotta people don’t care for the faux lume... but I personally think it works perfectly with the sandwich dial. Nice satin texture on the dial. Slight dome crystal completes the tribute to the past Seamaster. Great size. Overall great watch that becomes perfect with the nato imo.

It should be available at most AD. But not sure what discount u can get.
U should check the trusted sellers here for significant discount. Great value watch if u can get it at a good price.
It’s my go-to watch for traveling as well as sports activities.

Great in-depth review by trf member available here https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=479163

While SS sports model from Rolex are going for retail and up, you can get the SM300 new from a grey dealer at ~35% msrp. Used would be around 50% off msrp. I have a mint titanium one I got for nearly 50% off msrp. Try that with a Sub or any of the Rolex GMTs

I had one for a while but sold it to help fund my BLNR. Overall it was a great watch with its own character. I loved the recessed hour markers and white seconds hand. It looks great on the bracelet or any kind of strap. The bezel action was also very good for an omega. It's a great alternative to a no date sub with some vintage vibes.

I have one and love it, it’s a nice take on a classic model but with its own personality.

You may also want to look at the 60th anniversary of the seamaster if you like that style.

I really liked the way the watch looks in pictures but when I tried it on, it was too thick for me. I couldn't fit it under a sleeve cuff so it was a no go for me. If Omega ever updated this watch with a thinner case, I'd definitely buy.

Great watch and a tremendous value. Looks great on the metal bracelet, NATO strap or leather. You can find a slightly pre-owned model for 50% off or slightly more and new can be had for 35-40% off. When I find the right example and my funds/flipping line up right, I will pick one up.

There must be a simple explanation, but I'm perplexed that the numbers on the bezel are counting backwards.

It is a countdown timer vs. an elapsed timer. You use it when you are making cookies in the oven and want to make sure they don't burn.

What is the application for trains? Count the time before departure/arrival?

Ah that makes sense. I use mine to time my pasta, but a countdown would definitely be more practical.

Don't get it.

The new wave-bond version trumps it by far.

I always liked it but was truly blown away when I saw a two tone version on someone's wrist in Beijing airport...highly recommend checking that one out if you like this style..was really pretty.

I just picked one of these up and I think its more along the lines of a modern vintage piece. I've always loved the look of the vintage Seamaster and this watch manages to modernize it without simply reissuing it. It also has very similar lines and finishing to my Speedmaster. I also just realized that neither of my Omegas has a date complication lol.

Haha yeah we get it.
U don’t like the sm300mc and u like the new sm300

I m opposite.
I looked at the new sm at the boutique. Didn’t like any of the three colors. Thought they looked gimmicky with the new waves... and little cheap
But I dont post on those SM300 threads since I have nothing to contribute.

To each their own

I agree, I flipped the blue SMP, it’s a beautiful watch was just a little modern for me, loving this though! It’s like a classic car with a modern engine under the hood.
