The 10K I was gonna drop on a Daytona is now getting invested. I mean why would I ever buy another expensive watch again? Someone call me on this and tell me how thats against the rules. This is the most comfortable watch I ever tried on.

Two years ago I bought my Rolex. Last year I bought my Panerai. This year I bought this for $90, and you know what? I'm just as happy and satisfied with it.

Gshocks ??? Ugly useless pieces of plastic, not worth even a single buck. Don't buy them......
I would have to agree.

I had more than one in the past, NEVER AGAIN! The watches look as cheap as they really are, which puzzles me why someone would waste 100$ on one, when you can probably find a fake Rolex for around the same price.

If you spend 100$, you're spending at least 90$ too much on these.

In every case it didn't take any time for the watch band to break, followed by the water-resist never being water resist. Do a little diving and you find out how G-Shock thinks 100m is really just 1m or something. In all cases I've thrown them out in the trash after a few years.

I'd be embarrased to wear one these days.

Dude,I was being sarcastic

Gchocks are the best watches around bar none.
I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience with them but there's no question the most durable automatic watch can't stand even half of the abuses a Gshock can take.
And I'd rather stick to a Gshock forever than buying a fake Rolex

I wasn't sure if you were or not. But the fact remains I've always been very dissapointed with G-Shocks. I still stand by my arguements, they are far too over-priced.

would you be able to let us know which G Shock(s) has disappointed you in the past and what did you use them for?

G-Shocks are known for its reliability and toughness.... its like making a blanket statement of - Rolex is crap because it doesnt do what i wanted it to do.....

Got to agree with Eric here. I have put my G-shock through a lot, and that sucker hasn't even flinched. This may be one of the first times that I have heard someone with specific complaints about durability and operation. The aesthetic won't appeal to everyone (and that's cool - everybody shouldn't like the same thing) but my experience with these has been nothing but positive. Bruno's position is similar to that of many G-shock (and Seiko Monster for that matter) first time owners. Getting this much watch for such a small cost has a lot of appeal.

I don't believe any of what you just said. Sorry.

Just do a search and you would know G-Shock is the modern day tool watch for people in serious businesses.

I used them throughout my days as a university student. I don't remember ever doing much rigorous activity with them, unless you call swimming and a little bit of diving as rigorous outside activity.

I'll have to spend time an look through a list to pick out the ones I had, but like I said, the first things that seemed to always go was the rubber bands. In fact, ever since then I can't understand why more expensive watches like Citizen's SkyHawk comes with a Rubber tire attire (I know, aesthetics for pilots).

For what I got this watch for it's perfect. 10/10.

I can do anything at all I want in this watch with no fear at all. To the guy that had a problem with his g shock I'll bet you bought a fake by accident.

How could you possibly break a real one?

that thought came to my mind when i read it.... oh well

i think i'm having a G-Shock itch again and started looking at the Hyper-Color ranges again. came close to getting an Orange or Lime Green on not long ago.... i should probably to to the G-Shock store to check it out and see which one they have in stock

i probably end up with a black with green dial one in the end (much more subtle than the other ones me thinks )

Here's my two.

A classic DW5700 from the 80s; a very collectible 'screw back' G.

My other is a world timer with a 10 year battery life.

Excellent timepieces. The 5700 has been with me on travels and has never failed.

I dont think CASIO makes a 'screw back,' G anymore btw...
