Zenith makes a great timepieces for many years... now Unfortunately this brand is underestimated in US and much more popular on European market. Their El Primero is one of the best chronograph movements in the world!

For quite some time, Zenith was providing the Daytona movement.

So yes, it's a fine maker.

Good choice. I have the non-automatic version (called the El Primero HW) with a black dial and love it. Great value too at that price point.

I miss this one. I feel the Chronomaster T is their classic like the Sub is to Rolex.

I always like the defy as a fashion watch. But try to flip it scares me

Zenith is a great watch. Their movements are in house. I am particularly fond of the captain line. A lot of watch for the money...however I do agree that for quality of watch and pedigree, you can't beat jaeger le coulter for the money.

zenith is an awesome watch brand and one of the very few brands that make the whole watch in house.

the el primero movement is legendary and it is no coincidence that the price of daytona's with that movement seem very highly sought after in the UK if prices are aanything to go by.

my rainbow flyback has been with me for a while now and is not in danger of being flipped.

some of their newer designs really have me tempted....striking 10th and stratos are well worth a look imo.

That's a nice rainbow flyback, Tim! I checked out the whole Zenith lineup at a dealer this weekend; they have some great-looking pieces. I think it's a great time to buy Zeniths in the US; I think they're undervalued but that may soon change! I love the Striking 10th in person, but my favorite remains the clean black-face Chronomaster.

Have a soft spot for Zenith.

Came close a few time with their Striking 10th. Maybe next time

like their Vintage 1969 too. Almost bought one last week..... apparently the Vintage 1969 models has been discontinued

Really great watches . I have these two and will buy a Striking 10th one of these days.

those are 2 very nice zenith's Tim and the second one is clearly closely related to my rainbow flyback

Rob I agree that the striking 10th is a fantastic looking watch.

I am toying with the idea of a Blancpain fifty fathoms but a scary price imo. a stratos in black on a black strap does look awesome value at about half the price.

Zenith makes a great watch, although some of their designs are completely wacko today....

I think this is stunning, its a "remake" of the classic A386, and at 38mm is a smaller version of the Striking 10th.

It carries reference #03.2150.400. I've only seen it on Prestige Time (and their listings on ebay and chrono24.com). Does anyone have one; has anyone seen one in the flesh; and has anyone seen one for sale on the forums? Google image searches reveal real pictures of this watch only in Japan (go figure) and Italy - seems to be a foreign issue??

Wow, good find! I haven't seen that thread. Now the question is, where do we buy one!?

I contacted Prestige Time a month ago and he said they're on 6 week order. Their price seems reasonable though?

Yeah, they quote a very good price, but IMO I wouldn't have a lot of confidence in a grey market dealer's ability to deliver anytime soon. The watch is too new and seems to be hot. I'd place an order with an AD, and try to get a discount, or be prepared for a long wait for the greys. But this is just my guess, fwiw.

That's a good point - I guess it was new at the beginning of this year? Probably explains the shortage.

It is rare here and I am seriously considering one myself.

I picked the brain of someone that actually owns this very watch and he even gave me some cool pictures.

Because the el primero sub-minute dial only advances once every minute and not in a sweeping pattern, you can extrapolate where the hand actually is in the overlap portion by referencing the other side:
